[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_00]: dividing the word of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.
[00:00:55] [SPEAKER_00]: You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast, and now here's
[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Elgin.
[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Hey, brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus the Christ,
[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: to another episode of Words of Inspiration where we look at God's word for guidance, peace,
[00:01:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and practical wisdom in our everyday life.
[00:01:20] [SPEAKER_01]: And today, we're diving into a message that many of us need to hear.
[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Stop worrying about what God is already working on.
[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Our spiritual inspiration comes from Matthew chapter 6 verses 31 through 32 and reading
[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: from the New International Version it reads, So do not worry saying what shall we eat or
[00:01:47] [SPEAKER_01]: what shall we drink or what shall we wear for the pagans run after all these things
[00:01:53] [SPEAKER_01]: and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.
[00:01:57] [SPEAKER_01]: This passage is a reminder that God is fully aware of our needs and he is already working
[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_01]: to provide for us.
[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: So today we'll talk about how we can stop worrying about the things God is handling
[00:02:13] [SPEAKER_01]: and focus on what we can control working on ourselves.
[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And sometimes the very problems we face are how God is working on us to deliver
[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: the solution.
[00:02:28] [SPEAKER_01]: One of the most comforting truths in the Bible is that God is fully aware of what we need.
[00:02:34] [SPEAKER_01]: Often, we spend a lot of time worrying about things we have no control over, our finances,
[00:02:41] [SPEAKER_01]: health, relationships, and future.
[00:02:44] [SPEAKER_01]: But Jesus tells us plainly not to worry about these things because our heavenly Father
[00:02:49] [SPEAKER_01]: already knows what we need before we even ask.
[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Matthew 6 verses 31 through 32 teaches us that worrying is not productive, it only robs us of peace.
[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Worry can often be a distraction and keeps us from recognizing that God is already working
[00:03:10] [SPEAKER_01]: behind the scenes.
[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: We may not see it in the moment but God is faithful to provide for our needs and
[00:03:19] [SPEAKER_01]: just at the right time.
[00:03:22] [SPEAKER_01]: But what do we do while God is working?
[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: We focus on trusting Him and working on ourselves, on growing in faith, patience,
[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_01]: and spiritual maturity.
[00:03:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we're so focused on asking God to fix a problem that we miss the fact
[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: that God is using the problem to work on us.
[00:03:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Let's think about this for a second.
[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_01]: God may allow certain challenges in our lives not because he's distant or
[00:03:55] [SPEAKER_01]: uninvolved but because he's shaping us through those difficulties.
[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: In Romans 5 verses 3 and 4, reading from the NIV, Paul writes,
[00:04:07] [SPEAKER_01]: Not only so, but we also glory in our suffering because we know that suffering produces
[00:04:14] [SPEAKER_01]: perseverance, perseverance, character, and character, hope.
[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: While we're asking God to remove the problem, he might be using a problem to develop
[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_01]: something in us. Patience, resilience, or a deeper reliance on him.
[00:04:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of constantly praying for the problem to go away, we need to ask,
[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: God, what are you trying to teach me in this?
[00:04:41] [SPEAKER_01]: How are you using this to shape me into who you've called me to be?
[00:04:46] [SPEAKER_01]: As we let go of the need to control our outcome, we open ourselves up to the transformative work
[00:04:52] [SPEAKER_01]: that God is doing in us through the very situations we're anxious about.
[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: That's where real growth happens.
[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: One of the hardest truths to accept is that problems we face are often part of
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_01]: God's plan to bring us closer to him and to mold us into the people he's created us to be.
[00:05:14] [SPEAKER_01]: What we see as obstacles, God sees as opportunities.
[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: He uses the very thing we want to avoid, difficulty, discomfort, uncertainty,
[00:05:26] [SPEAKER_01]: to refine us and build our faith. In James 1 verses 2 through 4,
[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: we're reminded, consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds,
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Our problems are not pointless. They're part of God's process of making us mature and complete.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_01]: But this doesn't happen overnight and it doesn't happen if we spend all of our time worrying.
[00:06:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead, we must trust that God is working on the solution, even as we face the challenges in front
[00:06:16] [SPEAKER_01]: of us. The lesson here is simple. Stop worrying about what God is already working on and focus
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_01]: on being faithful in the moment. One of the most important things we can do is trust the process.
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Just because we don't see the immediate results doesn't mean that God isn't working it.
[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_01]: God's timing is perfect and he knows what we need, when we need it and how to bring it into our lives.
[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: Philippians 4 verses 6 through 7, reading from the New International Version says,
[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving,
[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: present your request to God. And the peace of God which transcends all understanding will
[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_01]: guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus. When we present our worries to God,
[00:07:17] [SPEAKER_01]: he replaces our anxiety with peace. That's the beauty of trusting him with our problems.
[00:07:23] [SPEAKER_01]: He not only works on the solution, but he also gives us peace in the process.
[00:07:29] [SPEAKER_01]: We can rest in the fact that God is in control and we don't have to carry the burden of worry.
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters, I want to remind you, God is already working on what you're worrying about.
[00:07:44] [SPEAKER_01]: He knows your needs and he's already preparing the solution.
[00:07:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Instead of focusing on what you can't control, focus on what you can. Working on your character,
[00:07:57] [SPEAKER_01]: your faith and your relationship with him. Sometimes God uses your problems to work on you.
[00:08:04] [SPEAKER_01]: So don't miss the lesson he's trying to teach you in the midst of the storm.
[00:08:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Stop worrying about what God is already working on. Trust the process. Trust his timing
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: and let him do the work he's promised to do. As you do that, you'll find peace,
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_01]: growth, and the freedom to live without the weight of anxiety.
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: I thank you for joining me on today and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.
[00:08:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Until then, God bless.
