Ask the Holy Spirit to show you the lessons within those trials and to strengthen you for the journey ahead. Remember, God’s plan for your life is worth staying the course.
[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock.
[00:00:42] The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ,
[00:00:49] rightly dividing the word of truth, and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.
[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast.
[00:00:59] And now, here's Elgin.
[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit
[00:01:10] to another episode of Words of Inspiration.
[00:01:13] And today, we're continuing our series, Working God's Plan, with an episode titled, Stay the Course.
[00:01:22] Our inspiration comes from 2 Chronicles 15, verse 7.
[00:01:27] And reading from the New International Version, it reads,
[00:01:32] But as for you, be strong, and do not give up, for your work will be rewarded.
[00:01:40] This scripture reminds us that while challenges are inevitable, God's plan for our lives is worth the effort, patience, and perseverance.
[00:01:50] Today, we're going to talk about how the Holy Spirit equips us to face trials, grow through challenges, and ultimately fulfill the purpose God has for our lives.
[00:02:02] When we talk about staying the course, we have to start with the power given to us by the Holy Spirit.
[00:02:08] The Holy Spirit is our guide, comforter, and source of wisdom.
[00:02:12] He doesn't just help us survive trials, he equips us to thrive through them.
[00:02:19] John 14 and 26 reads,
[00:02:22] But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things, and remind you of everything I have said to you.
[00:02:33] This means that when life feels overwhelming, the Holy Spirit gives us the discernment and creativity to navigate the challenges.
[00:02:43] God created us to be problem solvers, equipped with wisdom and spiritual insight to overcome obstacles.
[00:02:52] If we lean on the Holy Spirit, we find solutions that not only get us through trials, but also teach us valuable lessons.
[00:03:00] One of the hardest truths to accept is that trials are often part of God's plan to grow us.
[00:03:08] They're not just obstacles.
[00:03:10] They're opportunities for spiritual, emotional, and even professional growth.
[00:03:16] James 1 verses 2-4 reminds us,
[00:03:19] Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance.
[00:03:31] Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.
[00:03:39] Every challenge contains a lesson.
[00:03:42] Every lesson strengthens us for the future.
[00:03:45] For example, a financial hardship might teach us stewardship.
[00:03:50] A professional setback could teach us resilience.
[00:03:54] A strained relationship could teach us forgiveness and patience.
[00:03:59] Each trial we face is part of the process of becoming who God created us to be.
[00:04:05] The key is to stay the course, trusting that God is using every experience for our good.
[00:04:13] One of the beautiful things about working God's plan is that spiritual growth often leads to natural success.
[00:04:20] When we develop strength, perseverance, and discernment through spiritual challenges, those traits naturally flow into our personal and professional lives.
[00:04:33] Philippians 4 and 13 reads,
[00:04:36] I can do all this through him who gives me strength.
[00:04:40] The strength God gives us through trials empowers us to achieve goals that once seemed not of reach.
[00:04:47] For example, the patience you develop in waiting on God can help you handle difficult clients or coworkers.
[00:04:55] The wisdom you gain from studying his word can help you make sound financial decisions.
[00:05:02] The perseverance you build in prayer can help you push through obstacles in your career or personal life.
[00:05:10] God's plan is holistic.
[00:05:12] He's not just concerned with your spiritual life.
[00:05:15] He wants every aspect of your life to reflect his glory.
[00:05:21] It's important to remember that growth isn't comfortable.
[00:05:24] To stay the course, we must accept that challenges are part of the journey.
[00:05:29] But here's the good news.
[00:05:31] God provides for us and delivers us every step of the way.
[00:05:36] Isaiah 41 and 10 reads,
[00:05:52] God never promised that the road would be easy.
[00:05:55] But he did promise to walk with us and provide everything we need to succeed.
[00:06:03] Finally, staying the course requires faith in God's bigger picture.
[00:06:07] We don't always know the full purpose for which we were brought to earth.
[00:06:12] But we can trust that God does.
[00:06:15] Every trial, every lesson, and every victory is part of his divine plan.
[00:06:23] Habakkuk 2 and 3 reading from the complete Jewish Bible reads,
[00:06:29] For the vision is yet for an appointed time.
[00:06:32] It speaks to the end.
[00:06:34] It does not lie.
[00:06:36] If it delays, wait for it.
[00:06:39] It will surely come.
[00:06:40] It will not delay.
[00:06:43] Even when it feels like progress is slow, or setbacks are piling up.
[00:06:49] Remember that God's timing is perfect.
[00:06:52] Stay the course and trust that he is working all things for your good and his glory.
[00:06:59] Brothers and sisters, I want to encourage you.
[00:07:01] Don't give up.
[00:07:03] The Holy Spirit has equipped you with everything you need to face trials,
[00:07:08] learn from them, and grow stronger.
[00:07:11] Every challenge is an opportunity to become more like Christ and to bring glory to God.
[00:07:17] God.
[00:07:18] I thank you for spending time with me on today, and I look forward to our time together on tomorrow.
[00:07:24] Until then, God bless.
