We live in a world that often values independence and self-reliance, but the book of Proverbs reminds us that we’re not meant to navigate life on our own. God has given us the gift of community, godly mentors, and wise counsel to help guide us. And above all, He invites us to trust Him with our whole heart. Let’s explore how these truths can shape our journey.

[00:01:02] Brothers and Sisters, I welcome you in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach to another edition
[00:01:09] of Words of Inspiration. And today is the final day of our series, Walk with the Wise, a study
[00:01:17] in the book of Proverbs. And today we're talking about something essential for living a life
[00:01:23] of full wisdom. Seek wise counsel and trust God. Our spiritual inspiration comes from our
[00:01:32] Bible. We're reading from Proverbs 3, verses 5-6 and reading from the New International Version
[00:01:39] it reads, Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and lean not to your own understanding. In all
[00:01:47] your ways submit to Him, and He will make your path straight.
[00:01:53] We live in a world that often values independence and self-reliance. But the book of Proverbs reminds
[00:02:00] us that we're not meant to navigate life on our own. God has given us the gift of community,
[00:02:07] godly mentors, and wise counsel to help guide us. And above all, He invites us to trust Him
[00:02:14] with our whole heart. So let's explore how these truths can shape our journey.
[00:02:22] Proverbs is full of verses that emphasize the importance of seeking advice from those who are wise.
[00:02:29] Proverbs 15 and 22 says, Plans fail for lack of counsel, but with many advisors, they succeed.
[00:02:39] Seeking wise counsel means being open to learning from those who have walked with God longer,
[00:02:44] those who have experienced life and can offer godly wisdom. It could be a pastor, a mentor,
[00:02:51] a trusted friend, or a family member who loves the Lord and lives according to His principles.
[00:02:58] These people can provide guidance, hold us accountable, and help us see things from a
[00:03:04] spiritual perspective. When we isolate ourselves and rely only on our own understanding,
[00:03:10] we're more likely to make decisions based on emotion or limited knowledge. But when we invite
[00:03:17] godly voices into our decision-making process, we gain clarity and insight. Remember, seeking
[00:03:25] counsel isn't a sign of weakness. It's a sign of wisdom. While it's important to seek wise counsel,
[00:03:33] Proverbs 3, 5 through 6 reminds us that our ultimate trust should be in the Lord. It reads,
[00:03:40] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding. This verse calls
[00:03:47] us to a deep, unwavering trust in God. It's about acknowledging that His ways are higher than our
[00:03:55] ways and that He knows what's best for us. Sometimes, even after seeking advice from wise people,
[00:04:03] we may still feel uncertain. That's when we surrender our plan to God and trust Him to guide us.
[00:04:09] It's about letting go of the need to have everything figured out and believing that God will direct our
[00:04:16] steps, even when the path isn't clear. Isaiah 55 verses 8 through 9 reminds us,
[00:04:25] For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, declares the Lord.
[00:04:30] As the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts
[00:04:37] than your thoughts. Trusting God means surrendering our limited understanding and allowing Him to lead
[00:04:44] us. It's a daily act of faith, and it brings a peace that only God can give. Community and mentorship
[00:04:53] are gifts from God. We are created for connection, and having people around us who speak truth into
[00:05:01] our lives is invaluable. Ecclesiastes 4 verses 9 and 10 says,
[00:05:08] Two are better than one, because they have a good return for their labor. If either of them falls down,
[00:05:15] one can help the other up. Being part of a faith community and having mentors gives us the support
[00:05:23] we need to stay on the right path. These relationships can help us grow, challenge us to
[00:05:30] live out our lives of faith, and remind us that we're not alone in our journey.
[00:05:36] So who are the people in your life who can offer wise counsel?
[00:05:40] And how can you be intentional about seeking their advice and learning from them?
[00:05:46] Finally, let's talk about the freedom that comes from surrendering to God.
[00:05:51] When we stop trying to control every detail and submit our plans to Him,
[00:05:56] He makes our paths straight. That doesn't mean life won't be without challenges,
[00:06:02] but it does mean we'll have the clarity and peace that come from knowing God is in control.
[00:06:09] Pray about your decisions. Listen to God's voice through Scripture,
[00:06:14] through the wisdom of others, and through the gentle promptings of the Holy Spirit.
[00:06:20] God is faithful, and He will guide you.
[00:06:24] Brothers and sisters, Proverbs teaches us that seeking wise counsel and trusting God go hand in hand.
[00:06:32] We need the wisdom of godly mentors, but our ultimate trust must always be in the Lord.
[00:06:38] As we lean on Him and open ourselves to the wisdom of others, God will lead us in the right direction.
[00:06:47] If this message has encouraged you, consider sharing it with someone who might need a reminder
[00:06:53] to seek wise counsel and trust God.
[00:06:56] And remember, God is faithful to guide our steps when we surrender to Him.
[00:07:03] I thank you for spending time with me on today.
[00:07:06] I hope you have a wonderful weekend, and I look forward to our conversation on Sunday.
