[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Elgin.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters, hi, welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son,

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_01]: and Holy Spirit to another edition of Words of Inspiration.

[00:01:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Where we dive into the straightforward truths of the Bible and how they apply to our everyday lives.

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: And today we're talking about leadership, and not leadership for just those who are in a

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_01]: position of authority, but anyone who influences others.

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: And we're going to talk about God's expectation of leaders.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Our conversation is inspired by Luke, chapter 12 verse 48.

[00:01:54] [SPEAKER_01]: I reading from the Complete Jewish Bible which puts it this way.

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: From him who has been given much, much will be demanded.

[00:02:05] [SPEAKER_01]: From someone to whom people in trust much, they ask still more.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_01]: God doesn't meant worries when it comes to leadership.

[00:02:16] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're leading your household, a church, a business, or even just sending example

[00:02:22] [SPEAKER_01]: for others in your community.

[00:02:24] [SPEAKER_01]: The Bible makes it clear with great privilege comes great responsibility.

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_01]: God's expectations for leaders start with understanding that leadership is a form of stewardship.

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: When you're given authority, resources, or influence, you're not just holding on to those

[00:02:45] [SPEAKER_01]: for your own benefit, you're a steward, someone who manages what belongs to another.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_01]: In this case, this web belongs to God.

[00:02:56] [SPEAKER_01]: Luke chapter 12 verse 48 reminds us that much is demanded from those who have been given much.

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_01]: In leadership, this means that resources, talents, and people in trust to you are not yours

[00:03:11] [SPEAKER_01]: to use however you please. You are responsible for using them in ways that honor God

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_01]: and fulfill his purposes. Next, this verse speaks to accountability that comes with leadership.

[00:03:26] [SPEAKER_01]: God's expectations are not arbitrary or unfair. If he's given you more, meaning more influence,

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: more knowledge, more opportunity, then he expects more from you in return.

[00:03:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's easy to think that leadership is about enjoying the perks of having control.

[00:03:49] [SPEAKER_01]: But God views it different. The more he entrusts to you,

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: the more he expects you to act with wisdom, integrity, and humility.

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Leaders are called to be examples in both word and deed,

[00:04:05] [SPEAKER_01]: setting a standard for others to follow.

[00:04:08] [SPEAKER_01]: Another key point from this verse is the demand for faithfulness.

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_01]: God is just not looking for leaders who do the menom required. He's looking for those who are

[00:04:20] [SPEAKER_01]: faithful with what they've been given, who go above and beyond in serving others and carrying out

[00:04:26] [SPEAKER_01]: their responsibilities. Faithfulness in leadership means making decisions that align with God's will,

[00:04:34] [SPEAKER_01]: even when it's difficult. It means prioritizing the well-being of those who lead, being transparent

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: and being willing to admit when you're wrong. It's about leading with a servant's heart,

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_01]: just as Jesus did. Finally, God's expectations include a call to continuous growth.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: The verse says that the more will be asked from those who have been entrusted with much.

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: This implies that God expects leaders to grow in their capacity to lead,

[00:05:09] [SPEAKER_01]: to learn from their experiences and to become better stewards over time.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Leadership isn't static. It's a journey, a journey of constant improvement,

[00:05:21] [SPEAKER_01]: of seeking God's wisdom and of becoming more like Christ as we lead.

[00:05:27] [SPEAKER_01]: As leaders, we must always be striving to grow, knowing that God will continually ask more of us

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: as we mature in our role. So what does God's expectations of leaders look like?

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: It's recognizing that leadership is a sacred responsibility

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: that it comes with high expectations and that it requires ongoing growth and faithfulness.

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're leading a small team, a large organization,

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: but just trying to be a positive influence in your community. Remember this,

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_01]: God has entrusted you with something valuable.

[00:06:07] [SPEAKER_01]: And with that trust comes the expectation that you will lead well,

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: serve faithfully and grow continually in your capacity to reflect His love and truth.

[00:06:21] [SPEAKER_01]: I thank you for spending this time with me on today and I look forward to our conversation

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: on tomorrow. Until then, God bless.
