[00:00:42] The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ,
[00:00:49] rightly dividing the word of truth, and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.
[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast.
[00:01:00] And now, here's Elgin.
[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
[00:01:10] to another edition of Words of Inspiration,
[00:01:13] where we explore how God's word equips us to live with purpose and fulfill our calling.
[00:01:21] And today, we are in the final day of our series, Spiritual Gifts, The Gifts of Grace.
[00:01:32] And our title for today is Leaders Serve, focusing on the gift of leadership.
[00:01:41] Our spiritual inspiration comes from Proverbs 11, verse 14.
[00:01:48] And reading from the New Living Translation, it reads,
[00:01:52] Without wise leadership, a nation falls.
[00:01:56] There is safety in having many advisors.
[00:02:01] I thought it appropriate to end our series with the spiritual gift of leadership as we prepare to elect our next president.
[00:02:13] And also to remember that we have many leaders in our communities, whether it's leading a school, leading a church, or leading your household.
[00:02:25] Leadership is essential for the expansion of God's kingdom and the restoration of our communities.
[00:02:32] But in God's kingdom, leadership is not about power or position.
[00:02:38] It's about service, integrity, wisdom, and diligence.
[00:02:44] Jesus himself modeled this principle as he said in Mark 10 and 45.
[00:02:58] Leadership in the kingdom isn't about being the one in charge or seeking recognition for serving those who we lead.
[00:03:06] Leaders are called to serve their communities by guiding, directing, and helping others achieve their God-given purpose.
[00:03:16] This kind of leadership isn't always glamorous, but it's essential for the flourishing of those under our care.
[00:03:24] By serving, leaders demonstrate the heart of Christ, showing that true greatness comes from humility and selflessness.
[00:03:34] As Proverbs 11 and 14 tells us, without wise leadership, a nation falls.
[00:03:42] Leaders provide direction and vision.
[00:03:45] In a world where people often feel lost or aimless, leaders help guide others toward a common goal.
[00:03:53] In the context of the kingdom, that goal is the expansion of God's rule on earth through love, justice, and service.
[00:04:04] Leaders in a kingdom help people see beyond their immediate circumstances to the greater work that God is doing.
[00:04:11] This is where vision comes into play.
[00:04:15] Proverbs 29 and 18 reminds us, where there is no vision, the people perish.
[00:04:22] Leaders in the kingdom must have the ability to see where God is leading his people and then articulate that vision to others.
[00:04:30] Whether it's within a family, church, or community.
[00:04:36] Leaders who serve with vision bring clarity and hope.
[00:04:40] Helping people understand how their unique gifts fit into God's larger plan.
[00:04:46] Kingdom leadership also requires integrity, wisdom, and diligence.
[00:04:53] Romans 12 and 8 says,
[00:04:55] If your gift is to lead, do it diligently.
[00:04:59] Integrity is the foundation of all great leadership.
[00:05:03] People need to trust their leaders.
[00:05:06] And trust is built when leaders consistently live out the values they teach.
[00:05:12] Wisdom is equally crucial.
[00:05:15] Leaders often face difficult decisions and challenging circumstances.
[00:05:21] Godly wisdom helps them navigate these situations with grace and discernment.
[00:05:26] Ensuring that their choices align with God's will.
[00:05:30] As Proverbs 3 verses 5 through 6 encourages us.
[00:05:34] Trust in the Lord with all your heart.
[00:05:37] And lean not to your own understanding.
[00:05:40] In all your ways submit to him.
[00:05:43] And he will make your path straight.
[00:05:47] Diligence is about perseverance.
[00:05:49] Because leading others is not always easy.
[00:05:54] It requires hard work, persistence, and a willingness to stay committed to the mission.
[00:06:00] Even when the journey gets tough.
[00:06:03] Leaders who are diligent inspire others to keep moving forward.
[00:06:08] Knowing that the work they are doing has eternal significance.
[00:06:14] Beyond serving and guiding.
[00:06:16] Leaders inspire and motivate others.
[00:06:18] Leaders have the ability to speak life and hope into people's lives.
[00:06:25] Helping them see their potential.
[00:06:27] And encouraging them to take steps toward change.
[00:06:31] In the kingdom of God.
[00:06:33] Leaders are called to inspire others to pursue holiness.
[00:06:36] To love one another deeply.
[00:06:39] And to seek justice in their communities.
[00:06:42] Change happens when leaders not only cast a vision.
[00:06:46] But also empower others to act.
[00:06:50] They don't just give directions.
[00:06:52] They equip others to fulfill their role.
[00:06:55] And motivate them to grow in who Christ has called them to be.
[00:07:00] This is why leadership is so critical for kingdom expansion.
[00:07:04] Leaders don't just carry out the work of the kingdom.
[00:07:07] They mobilize others to do the same.
[00:07:11] Ephesians 4 and 12 says.
[00:07:14] To equip his people for works of service.
[00:07:16] So that the body of Christ may be built up.
[00:07:20] Leaders multiply their impact by raising up others who are passionate about restoring communities.
[00:07:26] And advancing God's kingdom.
[00:07:28] And expanding them.
[00:07:30] Finally.
[00:07:31] Leadership in the kingdom of God is not about status or control.
[00:07:36] It's about service.
[00:07:38] Leaders serve others by guiding them.
[00:07:41] Providing vision.
[00:07:42] And inspiring them to fulfill their God-given purpose.
[00:07:47] Leadership grounded in integrity, wisdom, and diligence.
[00:07:51] Can restore communities and expand the kingdom of God.
[00:07:55] And, in the world.
[00:07:56] Brothers and sisters.
[00:07:57] If you've been given the gift of leadership.
[00:07:59] I encourage you to embrace it with humility.
[00:08:02] And a heart of service.
[00:08:05] Lead with vision.
[00:08:07] And inspire those around you to seek God's will.
[00:08:10] And to work together for the restoration of our communities.
[00:08:14] When we lead as Christ did.
[00:08:16] Serving others first.
[00:08:18] We become part of God's powerful plan.
[00:08:21] To bring healing and hope to the world.
[00:08:25] God bless.
[00:08:26] I thank you for joining me on today.
[00:08:28] I hope you have a wonderful weekend.
[00:08:31] And I look forward to our conversation on Sunday.
[00:08:34] Until then.
[00:08:35] God bless.
