[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Elgin.

[00:01:03] [SPEAKER_01]: First, the sisters I welcome you in a name of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ.

[00:01:09] [SPEAKER_01]: To another episode of Words of Inspiration.

[00:01:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Today we're talking about something that many of us can relate to.

[00:01:19] [SPEAKER_01]: The attention between feeling like we should be further ahead in life

[00:01:23] [SPEAKER_01]: because of our intelligence and the need to remain humble and faithful in God's plan.

[00:01:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Our inspiration today comes from 1 Corinthians 8, 1st 2, and in the complete Jewish Bible it reads,

[00:01:42] [SPEAKER_01]: anyone who thinks he knows something doesn't yet know in the way he ought to know.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: These words written by Paul challenge us to rethink our understanding of knowledge and humility.

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_01]: So let's talk about it. How do you stay humble and faithful when you're smart,

[00:02:03] [SPEAKER_01]: talented and capable? Yet life isn't going the way we think it should.

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_01]: Maybe your feeling like you should be doing better now

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_01]: or that your career should be more advanced,

[00:02:15] [SPEAKER_01]: or that people around you should recognize your value more.

[00:02:19] [SPEAKER_01]: It's easy to think, I'm too smart for this. I should be further ahead now.

[00:02:25] [SPEAKER_01]: But let's dig deeper into what God is teaching us through this scripture and how we can navigate these feelings with humility and faith.

[00:02:36] [SPEAKER_01]: Paul's word in 1 Corinthians 8 and 2,

[00:02:39] [SPEAKER_01]: track it the heart of a common issue over confidence in our own knowledge.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_01]: He reminds us that if we think we know everything, we're probably missing the point.

[00:02:52] [SPEAKER_01]: God's perspective is far greater than ours and true wisdom comes from recognizing our limitations.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs 3 verses 5 through 6 tells us, trust in the Lord with all your heart and leave not to your own understanding.

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_01]: In all your ways submit to Him and He will make Your past straight.

[00:03:15] [SPEAKER_01]: Here's the key. No matter how smart we are, no matter how much we think we understand

[00:03:21] [SPEAKER_01]: we still need God's guidance. We can't navigate life effectively by relying solely on our own

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: intellect or abilities. It's natural to feel frustrated when things don't go as planned,

[00:03:36] [SPEAKER_01]: especially when we believe we have the skills to do better. But here's where humility comes in.

[00:03:43] [SPEAKER_01]: Humility is about acknowledging that our path is not just about what we know,

[00:03:48] [SPEAKER_01]: or what we can do. It's about trusting God's timing and His plan for our lives.

[00:03:57] [SPEAKER_01]: James 4 and 10 encourages us with this. How many of your cells before the Lord

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: and He will lift you up? God sees the bigger picture and He may be working on something in you,

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_01]: doing the season of waiting and frustration that you can't see.

[00:04:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Humility means trusting that God is working. The feeling of being too smart for this,

[00:04:25] [SPEAKER_01]: often comes from a place of pride. Think that we know better than others or even think that we

[00:04:31] [SPEAKER_01]: know better than God. But faithfulness requires us to submit our lives to God's wisdom,

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_01]: even when we don't understand why things aren't going our way. In Romans 12 and 3,

[00:04:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Paul writes, do not think of yourself more highly than you are. But rather think of yourself

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: with sober judgment in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: This first calls us to see ourselves as we truly are.

[00:05:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Valuable yes but also depending on God's grace and guidance in every area of our lives.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Being faithful means trusting that God's wisdom is greater than our own.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It means continually doing good, working hard and seeking God's will, even when the results

[00:05:22] [SPEAKER_01]: are what we expect. When we feel like we are too smart for this, it's often because we're

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: missing the bigger lesson God is trying to teach us. God may be using this season of waiting,

[00:05:35] [SPEAKER_01]: struggle, or uncertainty to refine our character, deepen our trust in Him, or prepares for something

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: greater. In 2nd Corinthians 12, verse 9, Paul writes, but he said to me,

[00:05:53] [SPEAKER_01]: my grace is sufficient for you. For my power is made perfect in weakness.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes it's not about how smart or how capable we are. It's about how much we allow God

[00:06:05] [SPEAKER_01]: to work through our weaknesses, through our unmet expectations and through seasons of life that

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: don't make sense. A part of the frustration that comes in is comparison.

[00:06:19] [SPEAKER_01]: We look at others who seem to be further ahead and think, I'm just as talented, why aren't I there?

[00:06:26] [SPEAKER_01]: But scripture warns us against comparing ourselves to others.

[00:06:31] [SPEAKER_01]: Galatians 6 and 4 says, each one should test their own actions, then they can take pride in

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_01]: themselves alone without comparing themselves to someone else. God's plan for you is unique,

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_01]: and your journey won't look like anyone else's. Instead of focusing on where you think you

[00:06:51] [SPEAKER_01]: should be compared to others, focus on being faithful and where God has placed you now.

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: So to bring it all together, we stay humble and faithful by recognizing our limitations,

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: embracing humility and trusting God's wisdom over our own. It means being faithful in the small

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: things, even when we're waiting for the big things. And it requires letting go of comparison.

[00:07:21] [SPEAKER_01]: Knowing that God's plan for our lives is different from anyone else's. Remember that God sees

[00:07:27] [SPEAKER_01]: the full picture of your life. He's working in ways that you can't always understand,

[00:07:33] [SPEAKER_01]: and he's asking you to trust him, to remain humble and to stay faithful. No matter where you are right now.
