[00:00:49] rightly dividing the word of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

[00:00:59] And now here's Elgin.

[00:01:02] Hey, brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus to Christ,

[00:01:08] to another episode of Words of Inspiration,

[00:01:12] where we uncover the transformative power of God's word in our lives.

[00:01:17] And today we're talking about a topic that every believer will resonate with,

[00:01:24] anticipation.

[00:01:26] Our scriptural inspiration comes from Romans, chapter 8, verses 24 and 25,

[00:01:35] which reads,

[00:01:36] For in this hope we are saved, but hope that is seen is not hope at all.

[00:01:43] Who hopes for what they already have?

[00:01:46] But if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

[00:01:53] This passage speaks directly to the heart of our journey with God,

[00:01:57] one that's marked by waiting, trusting, and believing in what we cannot yet see.

[00:02:05] So let's begin by looking back to the anticipation of the children of Israel.

[00:02:10] For centuries they awaited the coming of the Messiah.

[00:02:15] Prophets like Isaiah foretold his arrival, and people clung to these promises,

[00:02:21] even as they endured exile, hardship, and silence from God.

[00:02:27] Their anticipation was not passive, it was active.

[00:02:31] They prayed, worshiped, and held fast to the promises of God, trusting that his word would be fulfilled.

[00:02:41] This anticipation wasn't just about waiting, it was about faith.

[00:02:46] It reflected their belief in God's character, his goodness, faithfulness, and sovereignty.

[00:02:53] And when the Messiah finally came, it wasn't in the way they expected.

[00:02:58] Jesus entered the world humbly, born in a manger.

[00:03:02] Yet he fulfilled every promise and brought salvation to all.

[00:03:07] The same principle applies to us today.

[00:03:11] Whether we're waiting for answers to a prayer, a breakthrough in our lives,

[00:03:16] or the fulfillment of God's promises, our anticipation reflects our trust in him.

[00:03:25] Anticipation and expectation are integral to a life of faith, because they anchor us in hope.

[00:03:32] When we anticipate God's goodness, we're declaring that we trust his timing,

[00:03:37] his plan, and his ability to come through for us.

[00:03:42] It's an act of faith to believe in what we cannot yet see,

[00:03:46] and to trust that God is working behind the scenes for our good.

[00:03:51] But let's be honest, waiting is hard.

[00:03:55] We live in a world that values instant results, and it can be challenging to remain hopeful

[00:04:00] when answers seem delayed or circumstances don't align with our expectations.

[00:04:06] That's where Romans 8 and 25 encourages us,

[00:04:10] if we hope for what we do not yet have, we wait for it patiently.

[00:04:15] Patient doesn't mean passive resignation.

[00:04:18] It means actively trusting God, continuing in prayer,

[00:04:23] staying rooted in his word, and living in alignment with his promises.

[00:04:28] It's about expecting God to move, while allowing him to do so in his perfect way and time.

[00:04:37] Beyond our immediate circumstances,

[00:04:40] Roman 8 reminds us of the ultimate anticipation, the hope of eternal life.

[00:04:46] Just as the children of Israel awaited the Messiah,

[00:04:50] we await the return of Christ and the full realization of his kingdom.

[00:04:55] This anticipation shapes how we live.

[00:04:58] It keeps us focused on what truly matters, inspires us to live righteously,

[00:05:05] and reminds us that our trials are temporary compared to the glory to come.

[00:05:11] But anticipation isn't limited to eternity.

[00:05:15] It impacts our daily lives.

[00:05:18] When we anticipate God's provision, we approach challenges with confidence.

[00:05:23] When we expect his guidance, we make decisions with peace.

[00:05:28] When we trust in his promises, we walk in hope, no matter the circumstances.

[00:05:35] So how do we cultivate a life of anticipation?

[00:05:39] First, stay grounded in scripture.

[00:05:43] God's word is full of promises that remind us of his faithfulness.

[00:05:47] Second, pray with expectation, believing that God hears you and will respond in his perfect timing.

[00:05:56] Third, surround yourself with a community of faith that encourages you to remain hopeful and trust in God's plan.

[00:06:06] Anticipation and expectation are not just attitudes.

[00:06:09] They are declarations of trusting God.

[00:06:12] They say,

[00:06:13] I believe in who you are, God.

[00:06:16] I trust your character, your promises, and your plans for my life.

[00:06:24] Brothers and sisters, as we reflect on Romans 8, verses 24 through 25,

[00:06:31] let's remember that anticipation is a gift.

[00:06:35] It's the opportunity to trust God more deeply, to grow in faith,

[00:06:39] and to witness his faithfulness in action.

[00:06:43] Whether you're waiting for a specific answer, navigating a difficult season, or looking forward to eternity with Christ,

[00:06:51] know that your hope is not in vain.

[00:06:56] I thank you for spending time with me on today, and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.

[00:07:03] Until then, God bless.
