[00:00:00] Let us pray, Grant together on our knees. Let us pray, Grant together on our knees.
[00:00:13] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, O Lord, ever mercy on me.
[00:00:26] Welcome to Words of Inspiration with your host and teacher, Elgin Carelock.
[00:00:31] Now let's hear from Elgin.
[00:00:33] And he said unto them, He that have ears to hear, let him hear.
[00:00:38] That is Mark chapter 4, verse 9.
[00:00:41] I welcome you brothers and sisters to Words of Inspiration.
[00:00:45] From wherever you are we are so happy to have you and look forward to sharing God's Word.
[00:00:51] So today we are continuing in the conversation from the discussion on the Sunday of,
[00:00:57] glad hear your requests but you have to grow together.
[00:01:02] And we spoke on mindset which is emotional intelligence, spiritual intelligence,
[00:01:08] relational intelligence and leadership intelligence.
[00:01:11] And we also spoke on skill set and we talked about stewardship and prayer and fasting.
[00:01:18] And today I wanted to speak to you about the final area of skill set which is mastering your talents and your gifts.
[00:01:29] God gave each and every one of us both talents and gifts and they are to be used to bring God glory.
[00:01:38] So how do we do that?
[00:01:40] We bring God glory when we one worship him and spirit and in truth and two when we love others as we love ourselves.
[00:01:51] So what is the difference between a talent and a gift?
[00:01:55] A talent is something that you have skill at doing and talents can be improved.
[00:02:02] They can be honed through application, through education, through practice.
[00:02:08] And talents are how we make our living.
[00:02:11] It's how we create the resources to guide our daily lives, whether you're a nurse, a doctor, a lawyer, a bus driver, through education and applying what you learn on the job, you become more talented.
[00:02:31] And through that talent, you're able to earn a living.
[00:02:34] You're able to have the resources necessary to bless others.
[00:02:39] A gift on the other hand was always on board.
[00:02:42] A gift is what God gave you in the preparation for you to accomplish the purpose that he sent you to earth.
[00:02:50] Unlike a talent that can be honed, a gift is discovered.
[00:02:56] It is something that comes to the forefront as you are discovering your purpose.
[00:03:02] Your gift is the tool that God gave you to fulfill your purpose.
[00:03:08] And when it is discovered, you will have a natural or even supernatural ability within your area of gifting.
[00:03:17] So whether that is teaching, whether that is preaching, whether that is encouragement, whether that's exhortation.
[00:03:25] These are the gifts that God gives you for the benefit of others.
[00:03:29] And so our mastery of those comes through prayer, it comes through fasting, it comes through reading more of the word of God with the understanding of what your gift is.
[00:03:42] Who in the Bible had the same gift that you did?
[00:03:45] How did they use it?
[00:03:46] How did they bring God glory?
[00:03:47] How did they improve the lives of others and through that pursuit of both your talent and your gifts?
[00:03:55] Mastery, you bring God glory because you are able to be used by him to bless others on a much larger scale.
[00:04:03] So brothers and sisters, take heed to the talents and gifts that God has given you.
[00:04:08] Grow them.
[00:04:09] Work on them.
[00:04:10] Be a useful tool in God's skillful hand and you will see your life change forever.
[00:04:16] I thank you and look forward to when we meet again.
[00:04:20] God bless.
[00:04:25] Now I am coming home.
