[00:00:00] Let us pray, Grant together on our knees. Let us pray, Grant together on our knees.

[00:00:13] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, oh Lord, ever see all the need.

[00:00:26] Welcome to the Bible Speaks with Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a weekly ministry of

[00:00:32] Harvest International. Our prayer is that the Bible Speaks will encourage you in your

[00:00:37] study of God's Word. You will be able to contact Elgin at the address given at the end

[00:00:42] of this broadcast. And now here's Elgin.

[00:00:46] Pilate sayeth unto them, What shall I do then with Jesus which is called Christ?

[00:00:52] They all said unto him, Let him be crucified. And the governor said, Why would evil have

[00:01:00] he done? But they cried out the more saying, Let him be crucified.

[00:01:07] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the mighty and matchless name of our Lord and Savior,

[00:01:13] Jesus to Christ. And as we are celebrating Holy Week, leading up to the death, burial,

[00:01:21] and resurrection of Jesus Christ, I wanted to take some time to examine the last days leading

[00:01:29] up to his crucifixion. We know through our study of the Word that Jesus was on trial for

[00:01:40] charges that were obviously brought against them for political and power reasons. But unknowingly

[00:01:50] fulfilling, God's will. The accounts of Jesus' trial and crucifixion is found in the

[00:01:57] gospels of Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John, each providing unique perspective on the events.

[00:02:06] The charges brought against Jesus by the religious authorities of his time were multifaceted

[00:02:13] and definitely politically charged. Throughout his ministry, Jesus challenged the religious

[00:02:19] establishment and claimed authority that was perceived as a threat to their power and influence.

[00:02:28] His teachings and actions, including his claims of divinity and his criticism of religious hypocrisy,

[00:02:36] incurred the wrath of the religious leaders. The primary charges leveled against Jesus during

[00:02:43] his trial before the Jewish Sanhedrin Council and later before a Pontius pilot, the Roman

[00:02:50] governor included blasphemy, claiming to be king of the Jews, and inciting rebellion against

[00:02:58] Roman authority. These charges were intended to justify Jesus' condemnation and execution under

[00:03:06] both Jewish and Roman law. However, it is essential to recognize that Jesus' crucifixion was not solely

[00:03:15] the result of human malice or political entry. It was part of God's larger plan for the redemption

[00:03:23] of humanity. Throughout his ministry, Jesus spoke openly about his impending death and resurrection

[00:03:32] for telling the purpose and significance of his sacrificial death. In the gospel of John,

[00:03:39] Jesus declares, for God so loved the world that he gave his one and only son,

[00:03:46] that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life, which is John 316

[00:03:54] reading from day in I.V. Jesus understood his mission to be the fulfillment of God's plan to

[00:04:03] reconcile humanity to himself, to atone for sin, and to offer salvation to all who would believe in

[00:04:11] him. In choosing to accept crucifixion, Jesus willingly submitted to the will of the Father,

[00:04:20] surrendering himself as the ultimate sacrifice for the sins of humanity. His death on a cross was

[00:04:28] not an act of defeat but a demonstration of God's love and mercy towards sinful humanity.

[00:04:36] The Apostle Paul captures the significance of Jesus' crucifixion in his letter to the Corinthian

[00:04:43] stating, for what I received, I passed on to you as a first importance that Christ died for our sins

[00:04:52] according to the Scriptures, that he was buried, that he was raised on a third day according to

[00:04:58] the Scriptures, 1 Corinthians 15 verses 3 through 4 in the N.I.V. Jesus's death on a cross was

[00:05:08] the means by which God accomplished his plan of redemption, making forgiveness and reconciliation

[00:05:14] possible for all who believed in him. In conclusion, the charges brought against Jesus and his

[00:05:21] subsequent crucifixion were part of God's sovereign plan to bring salvation to humanity.

[00:05:28] While Jesus faced unjust accusations and condemnation by human authorities,

[00:05:34] his sacrificial death on a cross was the ultimate expression of God's love and grace.

[00:05:41] Through his death and resurrection, Jesus accomplished the redemption of humanity fulfilling

[00:05:46] the purpose for which he came into this world. As we prepared to celebrate resurrection Sunday,

[00:05:55] let us remember that we too have a purpose, that we were called to earth for a reason that

[00:06:02] specific to the gifts that were planted in us. And as we discovered those gifts, we must be ready

[00:06:09] to turn over our lives to God and allow him to use us to fulfill his purpose and bring him glory

[00:06:18] until we meet again. God bless.

[00:06:20] I have one hundred far away from God.
