The Bible Speaks - Words of Inspiration - Why Satan Is Necessary

Send a text If we were to be honest. Satan’s attacks may have the result of making us stronger, but we must understand that those experiences are usually a way to show us something about ourselves. Satan cannot tempt you with something you or should I say your flesh doesn’t like. He may try, but if it doesn’t work he moves on.

[00:00:00] Welcome to the Bible Speaks with your host, Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the Word of Truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast, and now here's Elgin. Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son, and Holy Spirit. To another edition of Words of Inspiration.

[00:01:15] As believers, we were called to earth by God for a specific purpose, and we are to use the spiritual gifts we were given at birth to bring God glory and have the Ming and on earth.

[00:01:29] The challenging part of our mission is that we live among a population who largely don't share our beliefs, values, and love for our fellow men. And the top of it all off, Satan and his demons are constantly trying to keep us from

[00:01:46] accomplishing our mission in an effort to keep the earth in a state of trouble, despair, and chaos. It is so bad that I don't turn my TV on very often, or watch news clips on the Internet, because the Inhumanity really greets my spirit.

[00:02:08] So why doesn't God just smite Satan and be done with temptation once and for all? Could there be a reason Satan exists? Is he part of God's grand design? So I'd like to have a discussion with you on today on the topic of why Satan is necessary.

[00:02:33] Our spiritual inspiration comes from the Book of Joe, chapter 1, verses 6 through 7. And reading from the new living translation, it reads, 1 day, the members of the Heavenly Court came to present themselves before the Lord. And the accuser, Satan, came with them.

[00:03:00] Where have you come from? The Lord acts Satan? Satan answered the Lord, I've been patrolling the earth, watching everything that's going on. In Judges 6, verse 13, reading from the new international version, it reads, pardon me, my Lord, get in reply.

[00:03:26] But if the Lord is with us, why has all this happened to us? Where all his wonders that our ancestors told us about when they said, did not the Lord bring us up out of Egypt?

[00:03:39] But now the Lord has abandoned us and given us into the hand of Median. Did Gideon have a point? Why has Satan been allowed to rule and reign with such power for so long? Is he gaining power? Is God losing the war for ourselves?

[00:04:02] I think not. The clue is in our spiritual text. Verse 6 talks about a day when the sons of God, who were angels, came to present themselves before God. Although the Bible does not explicitly say it, I believe angels at one point had free will.

[00:04:25] And it was that free will that allowed Satan to rebel against God and not only him, but there were many that followed him. After they were defeated, Satan became the accuser. Trying to say that God's chosen people, humans,

[00:04:44] although made in his image, were worse than he ever was and he's been trying to prove his case ever since. I believe God knew that the way to the feet Satan on earth was to raise up an army of

[00:05:00] disciples. That's us, y'all. Who would not fall for what we see but understand that we are the light of the world and must continue to choose to do Gides well? But in this effort there is the need for a spiritual growth and tenacity.

[00:05:20] As Satan is able to find more and more who are willing to listen to his urging and commit acts that we can't even father. So the accuser goes to God about you and me.

[00:05:36] And if God knows you're able to withstand the trial, he allows it but with restrictions as we saw with Joe. We may not like the experience and sometimes it comes with great pain and heartache.

[00:05:54] But the bigger picture comes from us understanding how many people will be saved and encouraged by our story. How through it all we maintain our faith and God. Oh we get angry with them,

[00:06:09] throw tantrums and even stop speaking to them for a season. But ultimately, if we are in a true relationship with God, we come back home. Just like the prodigal sign. And like the father of

[00:06:24] the prodigal sign, God will rejoice when we return. Joe was an outstanding and outstanding believer in all who knew him would attest to the same. In fact, in the King James version,

[00:06:40] it uses the word blameless. But we also see how quickly people began to change the way they saw Joe and eventually the way Joe saw himself. And that is Satan's true power. His power is not about changing your purpose and effectiveness through a friction.

[00:07:03] It is to change your mind about pressing on. If he's able to get you to doubt God's love, it will naturally cause you not to accomplish your purpose. But only for a season if you truly love

[00:07:17] God. If we were to be honest, Satan's attacks may have the result of making us stronger. But we must understand that those experiences are usually a way to show us something about ourselves. Satan cannot tempt you with something you or should I say your flesh doesn't like.

[00:07:39] He may try, but if it doesn't work, he moves on. Why also do we find ourselves going through the same trials again and again? It's because we haven't given up that trigger that takes us there.

[00:07:54] It still has a hold on us that even surpasses the pain it causes. As we are able to shed those things, Satan tries to find others and sometimes as in the case of

[00:08:09] Joe, we become so upright that God allows the unimaginable to happen. Because he knows you are built God tough and many will be blessed through your endurance and faithfulness. Brothers and sisters, the conversation between God and Satan in our spiritual attacks is a

[00:08:31] clear indication of God's power and sovereignty. So much so that Satan is allowed to enter into heaven and God has no concern. We should be the same because we were made in God's image.

[00:08:47] But we need help to stay on course because Satan will escalate. The God is faithful and with every temptation provides a way out that we may endure it. I thank you for spending time with me on today and I look forward to our time together on tomorrow.
