The Bible Speaks - Words of Inspiration - Seeing without Sight

Send a text Brothers and sisters, seeing without sight is a call to live a life that is anchored in spiritual realities and God’s promises, rather than being swayed by the often misleading and changeable circumstances that we can see with our physical eyes. It challenges believers to trust deeply in God and to live out that trust in every aspect of their lives.

[00:00:00] Let us pray, bread together on our knees

[00:00:07] Let us pray, bread together on our knees

[00:00:14] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun

[00:00:21] Oh Lord, never see all the need

[00:00:27] Welcome to the Bible Speaks with Elgin Carelock

[00:00:30] The Bible Speaks is a weekly ministry of Harvest International

[00:00:33] Our prayer is that the Bible Speaks will encourage you in your study of God's word

[00:00:38] You will be able to contact Elgin at the address given at the end of this broadcast

[00:00:44] And now, here's Elgin

[00:00:46] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our resident savior Jesus the Christ

[00:00:51] To another episode of Words of Inspiration

[00:00:54] And today we are going to be discussing the subject of seeing without sight

[00:01:01] Our Scriptural Inspiration will be Psalm 119, Verse 105, which reads

[00:01:09] Thy word is a lamp unto my feet and a light unto my path

[00:01:16] Have you ever been at a point in your life when you were uncertain what was going to happen next?

[00:01:22] How you were going to overcome a financial or health challenge?

[00:01:27] Matthew 6 and 25, reading from the New International Version tells us

[00:01:33] Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink

[00:01:40] Or about your body, what you will wear

[00:01:43] Is not life more than food and the body more than clothes?

[00:01:49] Is this a reasonable request? How can we trust God to do what he says without fear or anxiety?

[00:01:58] As you may suspect, I am going to share some familiar verses with you that talk about how we are to live by faith and not by sight, as described in 2 Corinthians 5 and 7

[00:02:12] But I want to take a slightly deeper look from the viewpoint of our Scriptural texts

[00:02:18] As we grow in our spiritual walk, the Word of God becomes a more valuable tool

[00:02:24] At every level, God shows us more and more within the same text

[00:02:30] How is that possible?

[00:02:33] Through the relationship we build with the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit

[00:02:38] As we study the Word and open our hearts and minds to hear what the Holy Spirit is saying or bringing understanding to

[00:02:46] We begin to have a clear picture drawing of God's character and expectations

[00:02:51] This leads to a more disciplined life, not because we know everything we are supposed to be doing, but because we know what we are not supposed to be doing

[00:03:01] This is very enlightening because it is where we begin to walk on the narrow path

[00:03:10] Matthew 7 verses 13 through 14 reads

[00:03:14] Enter through the narrow gate, for wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction

[00:03:21] And many enter through it, but small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life and only a few find it

[00:03:32] When we allow the world to dictate what we want and how we live, then we are on the wide path to destruction

[00:03:40] Proverbs 14 verse 12 tells us there is a way which seemeth right unto a man, but the end thereof are ways of death

[00:03:51] The key thought being if you are living the world's way, then you are not fully experiencing your godly purpose

[00:03:59] Or you are not fulfilling your godly purpose and will not live in the fullness of his blessings which is as bad as being dead

[00:04:08] You can find reference to that in James 2 verse 26

[00:04:15] God's word not only directs, but also enlightens

[00:04:19] It provides wisdom and understanding, helping us grow in our spiritual life and relationship with God

[00:04:27] This illumination allows for deeper insights into the nature of God, the reality of human existence, and the spiritual truth that underpin both

[00:04:38] Walking the narrow path can sometimes lead through unfamiliar and challenging scenarios

[00:04:45] The Bible, as a light on this path, offers comfort and assurance that we are not walking alone

[00:04:53] God's truth guides and protects us

[00:04:57] This assurance can be a source of great comfort in times of uncertainty and fear

[00:05:03] Beyond practical guidance, the light of God's word also enlightens the mind and soul

[00:05:09] It imparts wisdom that transcends human understanding, equipping us with insight into life's deeper questions and the nature of God himself

[00:05:20] This wisdom is essential for developing a mature faith that can withstand life's trials and complexities

[00:05:29] Brothers and sisters, seeing without sight is a call to live a life that is anchored in spiritual realities and God's promises

[00:05:38] Rather than being swayed by often misleading and changeable circumstances that we can see with our physical lives

[00:05:46] It challenges believers to trust deeply in God and to live out that trust in every aspect of our lives

[00:05:54] I thank you again for joining me on today and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow

[00:06:01] Until then, God bless
