[00:00:07] Let us break bread together on our knees

[00:00:14] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun

[00:00:21] Oh Lord, have mercy on me

[00:00:44] And now, here's Elgin

[00:00:46] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you to another edition of Words of Inspiration

[00:00:52] And today we are going to have a discussion about Praying the Word

[00:00:58] Our Squish World Inspiration comes from Romans 10 verse 17

[00:01:04] Which reads,

[00:01:13] Praying the Word of God is a powerful practice for believers

[00:01:17] Because it aligns their prayers directly with God's express will and promises as revealed in Scripture

[00:01:25] The Bible contains many examples and commandments that encourage using God's own words in prayer

[00:01:33] Emphasizing that his words do not return void but accomplish what he desires

[00:01:40] Found in Isaiah 55 verse 11

[00:01:44] By praying the Scriptures, we ensure that our requests are rooted in truth and align with God's character and plan

[00:01:53] This practice not only reinforces our faith in the promises of God but also deepens our understanding of him

[00:02:04] As we speak God's word back to him, we're reminded of his attributes including his sovereignty, love and faithfulness

[00:02:14] This leads to a more intimate and reliant relationship with God where we trust in his perfect will

[00:02:21] Additionally, Praying the Word of God equips us to combat spiritual warfare effectively

[00:02:30] Ephesians 6 verse 17 refers to the sword of the Spirit which is the Word of God

[00:02:37] In spiritual battles just as Jesus countered Satan's temptations by quoting Scripture believers can use God's word as the defensive and offensive weapon against spiritual deception and temptation

[00:02:52] This strategic use of Scripture empowers us giving us confidence and authority in prayer since we are invoking God's own declaration and principles

[00:03:03] Further, this method of prayer enriches our prayer life preventing it from becoming repetitive or insubstantial

[00:03:13] It keeps our mind focused on spiritual truths rather than personal limitations or circumstances

[00:03:21] Ultimately Praying God's Word helps to cultivate a spirit of submission to God's will enhancing the ability for us to be resilient

[00:03:34] and fostering a profound peace that comes from trusting in God's good and perfect will as we declare his word over every situation in our lives

[00:03:47] I wanted to share a few examples of how we can pray using God's words

[00:03:54] Scriptures such as Proverbs 3 verses 5 through 6 which reads

[00:04:00] Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding

[00:04:06] In all your ways submit to him and he will make your path straight

[00:04:12] This Scripture can be turned into a prayer for clarity and direction

[00:04:17] You can pray, Lord help me to trust in you with all my heart and not rely on my own understanding

[00:04:25] I seek your guidance please make my path straight and clear

[00:04:30] Another example are verses like Isaiah 41-10

[00:04:36] So do not fear for I am with you do not be dismayed for I am your God

[00:04:43] I will strengthen you and help you I will uphold you with my righteous right hand

[00:04:50] Pray Father I ask you to strengthen me and help me today hold me up with your righteousness your right hand

[00:05:00] So I do not fear or falter

[00:05:04] And finally a verse like Jeremiah 7-14 reads

[00:05:10] Heal me your Lord and I shall be healed save me and I shall be saved for you are my praise

[00:05:20] You can personalize this Scripture by saying

[00:05:24] Lord please heal my body and mind and I will be healed save me from this suffering and I will be saved

[00:05:33] You are my praise in all things

[00:05:37] So brothers and sisters by praying a word of God you not only ensure that your prayers are immersed in truth

[00:05:45] but you also enable God's word to actively work in your life transforming you and aligning you more closely with God's desires

[00:05:56] This method strengthens your faith and enhances your relationship with God making your prayer life a powerful conduit for his work in and through you

[00:06:09] I thank you again for spending time with me on today and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow. Until then, God bless.
