Brothers and sisters it is this level of understanding that allows us to tap into the fulness of the help we have. From Jesus interceding on our behalf to the Holy Spirit prompting our spirit towards the will of God, to the Father bringing increase in our lives.
[00:00:00] Let us pray, bread together on our knees
[00:00:07] Let us pray, bread together on our knees
[00:00:14] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun
[00:00:21] Oh Lord, never see all the knees

[00:00:44] And now, here's Elgin
[00:00:46] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit
[00:00:52] To another edition of Words of Inspiration
[00:00:57] Today I wanted to discuss the topic of my help
[00:01:03] As we grow spiritually in our relationship with God
[00:01:08] It should change from him being our help in case of emergencies and significant life changes
[00:01:16] To him being the source of all that we desire
[00:01:21] Our spiritual inspiration comes from Psalm 121
[00:01:27] Which reads, I will lift up my eyes unto the hills
[00:01:32] From whence cometh my help
[00:01:35] My help cometh from the Lord, which made heaven and earth
[00:01:40] He will not suffer thy foot to be moved
[00:01:43] He that keepeth thee will not slumber
[00:01:46] Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither sleep nor slumber
[00:01:51] The Lord is thy keeper
[00:01:54] The Lord is thy shade upon thy right hand
[00:01:57] The sun shall not smite thee by day nor the moon by night
[00:02:03] The Lord shall preserve thee from all evil and he shall preserve thy soul
[00:02:10] The Lord shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth and even forevermore
[00:02:20] The Lord being our help doesn't mean God's purpose is to give us everything we want
[00:02:27] Or to keep aside all of the challenges that come with life
[00:02:31] Instead, it's understanding who he is, his character, his purpose for our lives
[00:02:39] And how we bring him glory
[00:02:43] Proverbs 4 verse 7 tells us, Wisdom is the principal thing
[00:02:48] Therefore get wisdom and with all thy getting get understanding
[00:02:54] As we better understand who God is
[00:02:57] The more effective we are at building a relationship with him
[00:03:01] That allows us to gain knowledge through studying his word
[00:03:05] And understanding as we immerse ourselves in his word
[00:03:09] And finally wisdom as we understand how and when to apply what we understand as the will of God
[00:03:18] So, as we look through our scriptural inspiration
[00:03:24] The first thing it says is, I will lift up my eyes unto the hills once cometh my help
[00:03:31] In order to look up to the hills, we have to take our eyes off what has taken our attention away from God
[00:03:39] And it doesn't have to be something bad
[00:03:42] We can get a new promotion that is blessing us on new levels and our focus shift to doing whatever we can to maintain that
[00:03:51] Rather than focusing on maintaining the relationship that caused God to give us, give it to us in the first place
[00:03:59] Next, when we acknowledge that our help comes from the Creator of heaven and earth
[00:04:04] Then it's no wonder that he will not suffer our foot to be moved
[00:04:09] As we are allowing Jesus to be Lord of our lives and the Holy Spirit to guide us
[00:04:15] We are showing God that we know that he is bigger than anything we encounter
[00:04:21] No matter what it is, God made it and if God made it, it's under his control
[00:04:27] We often hear believers quote Isaiah 54 verse 17
[00:04:32] Which says, no weapon formed against you shall prosper
[00:04:37] But I want you to look at verse 16 where God is saying he created the fire that the blacksmith used to form the weapon and the blacksmith himself
[00:04:48] So the weapon formed will not prosper against you because as we know that all things work together for the good of them that love God
[00:04:57] To them who are called according to his purpose, which is read in Romans 8 verse 28
[00:05:04] So even if the weapon is formed and used on you, it will not prosper because it ultimately is part of God's plan for your life
[00:05:14] The rest of Psalm 121 is God's reassurance that he is always there and with us
[00:05:21] That he never sleeps or slumbers day or night, good times and bad
[00:05:27] He is always there even forevermore
[00:05:31] Brothers and sisters, it is this level of understanding that allows us to tap into the fullness of the help we have
[00:05:40] From Jesus interceding on our behalf to the Holy Spirit prompting our spirits toward the will of God
[00:05:47] To the Father bringing increase in our lives
[00:05:51] I thank you once again for sharing this time with me and I look forward to our discussion on tomorrow
[00:05:58] Until then, God bless
