[00:01:23] So to keep me from becoming conceited because of the surpassing greatness of the revelations
[00:01:31] A thorn was given me in the flesh, a messenger of Satan to harass me
[00:01:37] To keep me from becoming conceited
[00:01:41] Three times I pleaded with the Lord about this, that it should leave me
[00:01:46] But He said to me, my grace is sufficient for you
[00:01:51] For my power is made perfect in weakness
[00:01:55] Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses
[00:02:01] So that the power of Christ may rest upon me
[00:02:05] Have you ever had something in your life that you asked God to move more than once?
[00:02:12] And He did not
[00:02:14] Or has not?
[00:02:15] Have you considered that there is a reason other than chastisement?
[00:02:21] There are times when Satan attacks you in a specific area and God decides to use that affliction for your growth
[00:02:30] That growth includes remaining humble
[00:02:34] Rather than removing this source of affliction, Jesus assured Paul that his grace was enough to carry him through his trials
[00:02:44] This grace, a divine help and favor, is not dependent upon human strength or ability
[00:02:51] But is a gift from God that sustains and empowers believers particularly when they are at their weakest
[00:02:59] Romans 12 verse 3 reads
[00:03:03] The apostle Paul is cautioning against the dangers of pride and self-importance within the Christian community
[00:03:11] This exhortation encourages believers to be more careful about their own life
[00:03:18] And it is a great blessing for them to be able to live in peace

[00:04:28] God expects humility from believers as it acknowledges his ultimate authority and sovereignty over all creation
[00:04:36] Humility allows individuals to recognize that everything they have, including their abilities and accomplishment, is a gift from God
[00:04:47] And you can find that in James 1 verse 17
[00:04:52] Humility is crucial for maintaining unity within the Christian community
[00:04:57] Philippians 2 verses 3 through 4 exhausts believers to do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit
[00:05:06] But in humility to value others above themselves, not look into their own interests but each to the interests of others
