[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior Jesus Christ to another

[00:01:10] [SPEAKER_01]: episode of Words of Inspiration where we dive into the Word of God and how it speaks to

[00:01:17] [SPEAKER_01]: our lives today.

[00:01:18] [SPEAKER_01]: And on today we'll be discussing a powerful biblical principle.

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_01]: Give and it shall be given to you.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: This principle is beautifully illustrated in the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz.

[00:01:36] [SPEAKER_01]: A story of love, loyalty, sacrifice and the abundant blessings that flow from selfless

[00:01:43] [SPEAKER_01]: giving.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_01]: The story begins with Naomi, a widow who has lost everything.

[00:01:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Her husband and two sons have died leaving her alone in a foreign land with her two

[00:01:55] [SPEAKER_01]: mawbite daughters, Ruth and Orpah.

[00:01:59] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi decides to return to Bethlehem, her homeland, and urges her daughter-in-law to stay in Moab

[00:02:07] [SPEAKER_01]: where they may find new husbands and start afresh.

[00:02:12] [SPEAKER_01]: But Ruth, in an extraordinary act of loyalty and love, refuses to leave Naomi.

[00:02:18] [SPEAKER_01]: In Ruth, Chapter 1, Verses 16-17, reading from the NIV, she declares,

[00:02:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Where you go, I will go.

[00:02:29] [SPEAKER_01]: And where you stay, I will stay.

[00:02:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Your people will be my people and your God my God.

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_01]: Where you die, I will die.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: And there I will be buried.

[00:02:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Ruth sacrifices her own comfort, security and future to stay by Naomi's side.

[00:02:50] [SPEAKER_01]: She chooses to give up her homeland, her culture, and even the prospect of remarriage to care

[00:02:57] [SPEAKER_01]: for her mother-in-law.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_01]: Ruth's decision is a profound example of selfless love and loyalty.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: She didn't know what awaited her in Bethlehem, but her commitment to Naomi was unwavering.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: This kind of love, one that gives without expecting anything in return, is at the heart of the

[00:03:18] [SPEAKER_01]: biblical principle, give and it shall be given.

[00:03:23] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi on the other hand demonstrates a different kind of giving.

[00:03:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Despite her own grief and bitterness, Naomi's concern is for Ruth and Orpah's well-being.

[00:03:34] [SPEAKER_01]: She urges them to stay in Moab and find new husbands, believing that they would be better

[00:03:41] [SPEAKER_01]: off without the burden of caring for her.

[00:03:44] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi's selflessness is evident in her willingness to let them go, even though it meant she

[00:03:50] [SPEAKER_01]: would be returning to Bethlehem alone.

[00:03:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi's love for Ruth goes beyond her own needs and desires.

[00:03:58] [SPEAKER_01]: When they arrive in Bethlehem, Naomi continues to care for Ruth by guiding her on how to find

[00:04:04] [SPEAKER_01]: food and security.

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_01]: She becomes Ruth's advocate, seeking her future well-being and encouraging her to approach

[00:04:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz, a relative who could act as their kinsman redeemer.

[00:04:19] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi's selflessness gives Sesta stays for the blessing that will follow.

[00:04:24] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz, a man of integrity, generosity and kindness, when Ruth begins to glean in his field, Boaz

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: takes notice of her hard work and loyalty to Naomi.

[00:04:37] [SPEAKER_01]: He assures that Ruth is protected and provided for, instructing his workers to leave

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: extra grain for her to gather.

[00:04:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz's actions are a clear example of generosity that flows from the heart aligned with God's

[00:04:51] [SPEAKER_01]: principles.

[00:04:53] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz doesn't stop at providing for Ruth's immediate needs.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_01]: When Ruth approaches him, asking him to fulfill the role of kinsman redeemer, Boaz goes above

[00:05:04] [SPEAKER_01]: and beyond.

[00:05:06] [SPEAKER_01]: He agrees to marry Ruth, thereby redeeming Naomi's family line and securing their future.

[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz's willingness to take on his responsibility is a powerful act of love and sacrifice.

[00:05:20] [SPEAKER_01]: He gives not just materially, but emotionally and relationally, offering security and a future

[00:05:28] [SPEAKER_01]: to Ruth and Naomi.

[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_01]: The story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz is a testament to the blessings that flow from selfless

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_01]: giving.

[00:05:38] [SPEAKER_01]: Ruth's loyalty and sacrifice are rewarded with a new family and a place of honor in the

[00:05:44] [SPEAKER_01]: lineage of King David, and ultimately Jesus Christ.

[00:05:48] [SPEAKER_01]: Naomi who thought she had returned to Bethlehem empty, his breath was a grandson who will

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: carry her family's legacy.

[00:05:57] [SPEAKER_01]: Boaz, through his generosity and protection, became the great grandfather of Israel's

[00:06:02] [SPEAKER_01]: greatest king.

[00:06:04] [SPEAKER_01]: In Luke chapter 6 verse 38 Jesus teaches, Give and it will be given to you.

[00:06:12] [SPEAKER_01]: A good measure, pressed down, shaken together and running over, will be poured into your

[00:06:18] [SPEAKER_01]: lap for with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_01]: This verse perfectly encapsulates the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz.

[00:06:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Each of them gave selflessly and each received blessings far beyond what they could have imagined.

[00:06:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters, the story of Ruth, Naomi and Boaz challenges us to live out the principle

[00:06:42] [SPEAKER_01]: give and it shall be given in our own lives.

[00:06:46] [SPEAKER_01]: It reminds us that when we give, whether it's our time, our resources, our love, God's

[00:06:53] [SPEAKER_01]: blessings will flow into our lives in a way we can't even begin to comprehend.

[00:06:59] [SPEAKER_01]: As we reflect on the beautiful narrative, let's ask ourselves how can we give more generously?

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: How can we show loyalty and love to those around us?

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_01]: How can we become channels of God's blessing to others?

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: Just as Ruth, Naomi and Boaz were to each other.
