[00:00:00] Brothers and sisters, I greet you in the name of our risen Savior Jesus to Christ.

[00:00:06] And today I wanted it to continue discussing what happened after he died up.

[00:00:16] After Jesus' resurrection his teachings were to reaffirm his identity and his mission

[00:00:25] but also to prepare his followers for the establishment of the early Christian Church and their roles within it.

[00:00:35] One of the primary focuses of Jesus' post-resurrection teaching was the clarification of Hebrew scripture

[00:00:44] in light of his death and resurrection.

[00:00:47] Jesus explained to his disciples how the scriptures had foretold these events,

[00:00:53] thus providing a theological foundation for understanding his life and mission.

[00:00:58] This was vividly illustrated in his encounter with the disciples on a road to Emmaus,

[00:01:04] where beginning with Moses and all the prophets he explained to them what was said in the scripture

[00:01:11] concerning him, found in Luke 24 and verse 27. These teachings were essential for the disciples

[00:01:20] grasp the continuity of God's plan from the Old Testament through to Jesus' own life and work.

[00:01:29] Perhaps the most momentous of Jesus' teachings is the Great Commission.

[00:01:36] Jesus instructed his disciples to go and make disciples of all nations,

[00:01:42] baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit

[00:01:48] and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you, Matthew 28 verses 19 through 20.

[00:01:56] This command not only entrusted the disciples with the continuation of Jesus' ministry

[00:02:03] but also expanded his scope to a universal mission.

[00:02:08] The Great Commission laid the groundwork for the spread of Christianity beyond the Christian,

[00:02:13] beyond the Jewish community and into the wider world, emphasizing discipleship, baptism

[00:02:22] and teaching as the key components of Christian practice. Another facet of Jesus' teaching after his

[00:02:29] resurrection was the promise of the Holy Spirit. He told his disciples that the Father would send

[00:02:36] the advocate, the Holy Spirit, in his name to teach them all things and remind them of everything he

[00:02:43] said to them. Founded in John 14 verse 26. This promise was crucial for empowering the disciples

[00:02:52] in their forthcoming mission, ensuring that they would not be left alone as they took

[00:02:58] under the daunting task of spreading the gospel. The Holy Spirit's role as a teacher, guide

[00:03:05] and source of strength, would be fundamental to the establishment and growth of the early church.

[00:03:12] Jesus' post-resurrection appearance was also marked by teaching on peace, forgiveness and faith.

[00:03:22] His first words to the gathered disciples were, peace be with you in John 20 verse 19,

[00:03:29] underscoring that peace that comes from understanding and accepting his mission and presence.

[00:03:36] Additionally, he emphasized the importance of forgiveness, giving the disciples the authority to

[00:03:44] forgive sins. Thus establishing the practice of reconciliation within the community of believers

[00:03:53] and moreover, Jesus' interaction with Thomas who doubted until he saw Jesus' wounds

[00:04:00] underscored the blessedness of those who believe without seeing. Highlighting faith as a central

[00:04:08] element of Christian life. So brothers and sisters, as we walk on our Christian journey,

[00:04:16] we must remember the gift that we were given when Christ got up,

[00:04:20] that we now have the power and we have the onboard support of God through the Holy Spirit to go out

[00:04:27] into the world and spread the good news throughout the nation. We have the ability to go across the

[00:04:33] airways as I am right now and reach people in different countries and different languages.

[00:04:41] So be encouraged, be very encouraged, be courageous and be bold,

[00:04:46] and let's bring the good news of the risen Savior to the world. Until next time, God bless you.
