[00:00:32] Now let's hear from Elgin. I was glad when they said unto me, Let us go into the house of the Lord. Let us assist us as I welcome you for tuning in and listen from wherever you are,
[00:00:46] And today's words of inspiration are about having faith through the fiery furnaces of life. As Christians, we understand that many are the afflictions and that God delivers us out of the law. But are there times when our challenges seem insurmountable?
[00:01:11] That we don't understand how and when we will get out of the situation that we find ourselves? And trust that God will move on our behalf, that all things work to the good of them who love the Lord.
[00:01:27] I reference you to Genesis and the story of Mishak Shadrak and Abendigo. Most commonly referred to as the Hebrew voice. And doing this part of Genesis, we find that King Nebuchadnezzar had created a large goal statue over 90 feet tall and 9 feet wide.
[00:01:53] And it was always issued shortly thereafter that when a certain type of music played, everyone had to bow down and worship the statue.
[00:02:05] Mishak Shadrak and Abendigo refused to do so, which made the King furious because he had appointed Daniel and Daniel asked that Mishak Shadrak and Abendigo be promoted as well to help him in his cause.
[00:02:22] So you can imagine that after this law was passed and they refused to do it, the King was furious. And so much so that he brought them to the castle and he said to them, I will give you one more chance.
[00:02:38] And that when that music plays, that you are to bow down and worship the statue, Mishak Shadrak and Abendigo told them that under no condition what they do it. And if he were to throw them into the fiery furnace, that God would deliver them.
[00:02:56] But if he doesn't, they still would never bow down to worshiping a God other than the one true God. I want to ask, do we have that kind of faith?
[00:03:10] Do we have the standard and the boldness to not allow ourselves to give in to worldly commands that are contrary to what we say we believe as followers of Christ? Are we able to take a stand when it may come to our own detriment?
[00:03:33] I would hope that we would never be threatened with a fiery furnace, but metaphorically there can be times where it may seem that our situations are equally as dire.
[00:03:45] So I say to you that we must give it to the Lord and by giving it to the Lord is lean to His understanding and not ours.
[00:03:55] That we pray before we act, that we allow what He has placed in us to come through and to take a stand when it is time to take a stand and not just conform to this world. You can do it.
