[00:00:00] Let us pray, Grant together on our knees. Let us pray, Grant together on our knees.

[00:00:14] When I fall on my knees with my face to the rising sun, oh Lord ever see all the need.

[00:00:27] Welcome to the Bible Speaks with Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a weekly ministry of harvest international.

[00:00:33] Our prayer is that the Bible Speaks will encourage you in your study of God's Word.

[00:00:38] You will be able to contact Elgin at the address given at the end of this broadcast. And now, here's Elgin.

[00:00:45] After this, Jesus knowing that all things were now accomplished, that description might be fulfilled, say it.

[00:00:54] I thirst. Now, there was set a vessel full of vinegar and they filled a sponge with vinegar and put it upon his and put it to his mouth.

[00:01:04] When Jesus therefore had received the vinegar, he said it is finished and he bowed his head and gave up the ghost.

[00:01:13] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you from wherever you are and whenever you are listening to words of inspiration on this good Friday.

[00:01:23] And there are those who wonder how is it that we consider this a good Friday when it is when Jesus died.

[00:01:32] But for those of us who are believers, it is the beginning of the new covenant that was to come with his resurrection.

[00:01:40] This pivotal event represents the culmination of God's redemptive plan for humanity and has far-reaching implications for people of all nations and backgrounds.

[00:01:53] For the children of Israel, the death of Jesus carries immense significance in light of their covenant relationship with God, established through Moses and law.

[00:02:05] Throughout the Old Testament, God promises to Israel included the provision of a Messiah, a Savior who would deliver them from sin and restore their relationship with God.

[00:02:18] The death of Jesus fulfilled the messianic prophecies serving as the ultimate atonement for the sins of Israel and offering reconciliation with God.

[00:02:30] In the gospel of Matthew, Jesus' death is presented in the context of Jewish religious symbolism such as the Passover.

[00:02:40] Jesus is portrayed as the sacrificial Lamb of God whose blood provides redemption and deliverance from sin just as the blood of the Passover Lamb protected the Israelites from the judgment of God and Egypt.

[00:02:55] Through his death, Jesus fulfills the role of the suffering servant foretold by the prophets, bearing the sins of his people and bringing salvation to Israel.

[00:03:07] For Gentiles who believed in Jesus, his death holds profound significance as well.

[00:03:13] Prior to Jesus' ministry, the Gentiles were considered outsiders to the covenant promises of God, excluded from the blessings of Israel.

[00:03:24] However, through his death on the cross, Jesus extends the offer of salvation to all people regardless of ethnicity and nationality.

[00:03:35] The Apostle Paul describes this transformation in his letter to the Ephesians, proclaiming that Gentiles who were once separate from Christ, excluded from the citizenship in Israel and foreigners to the covenant of his promise have been brought near by the blood of Christ.

[00:03:54] Found in Ephesians 2 verses 12 through 13.

[00:04:00] The death of Jesus represents the ultimate act of love and sacrifice, demonstrating God's desire for reconciliation with all humanity.

[00:04:11] Through his death, Jesus provides a way for both Jews and Gentiles to be reconciled to God, to receive forgiveness of sins and to experience the fullness of life in him.

[00:04:24] As the Apostle Paul declares, there is neither Jew nor Gentile, neither slave nor free, nor is there male or female for you all one in Christ Jesus, the Lace 3 and 28.

[00:04:40] In conclusion, the death of Christ holds profound significance for both the children of Israel and the Gentiles who believe in Him.

[00:04:49] If fulfills God's promise to Israel, providing redemption, reconciliation with God and extends the offer of salvation to all people, inviting them into a new covenant relationship through faith in Jesus Christ.

[00:05:04] As believers reflect on the death of Jesus, we are reminded of the death of God's love and the magnitude of His grace which knows no bounds and extends to all who would believe on Him.

[00:05:20] Brothers and sisters, I thank you for spending this time with me and I look forward to our next conversation until then, be blessed.
