[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock.

[00:00:42] The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly

[00:00:49] dividing the word of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives.

[00:00:55] You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast, and now here's

[00:01:01] Elgin.

[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus the Christ, to another

[00:01:09] episode of The Bible Speaks, where we explore how God's Word speaks to us in every season

[00:01:15] of our lives.

[00:01:17] And today we're diving into a topic that many of us can relate to, the idea that sometimes

[00:01:24] the blessings we're praying for don't come all at once.

[00:01:28] Sometimes they come in stages, and in those times we are called to remain diligent and

[00:01:34] faithful.

[00:01:36] Our inspiration comes from Mark 8 verse 24, which is a fascinating passage where Jesus

[00:01:45] heals a blind man at the seato.

[00:01:49] And reading from the New International Version, it reads, He looked up and said, I see

[00:01:56] people.

[00:01:58] They look like trees walking around.

[00:02:01] In this passage, the man receives partial healing before his vision is fully restored.

[00:02:07] His initial response is striking.

[00:02:10] He sees people, but they look like trees.

[00:02:14] His healing comes in stages, and this reveals something important about the way God sometimes

[00:02:20] works in our lives.

[00:02:22] We don't always get the full blessing right away.

[00:02:25] Sometimes we get a glimpse, a partial breakthrough, and we must be patient and faithful as we wait

[00:02:33] for the full blessing to come.

[00:02:35] So today we're going to explore this idea of blessings coming in stages and how we should

[00:02:41] respond when we are in the in-between stage, where things are not quite clear, but we

[00:02:48] know God is working.

[00:02:51] First, let's talk about the process of the blessing.

[00:02:56] In this story, Jesus takes the blind man by the hand, leads him outside the village,

[00:03:02] and performs the healing in two stages.

[00:03:05] After the first touch, the man can see, but not clearly.

[00:03:10] People look like trees walking around.

[00:03:14] Why didn't the healing happen immediately?

[00:03:17] Why didn't Jesus heal him fully at the first touch?

[00:03:22] I believe this shows us something about the process of healing and blessing in our lives.

[00:03:28] Sometimes God gives us a taste of the blessing, but not the whole thing at once.

[00:03:33] It's as if he's saying, I'm not done yet.

[00:03:37] There's more to come, but you need to trust me and be patient.

[00:03:42] Philippians 1 verse 6 reminds us, being confident of this, that he who began a good work in you

[00:03:51] will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.

[00:03:55] This means that God doesn't leave us halfway.

[00:03:59] If he has started something in your life, whether it's healing, growth, or transformation,

[00:04:04] he will see it through to the end.

[00:04:07] But in the meantime, we need to be diligent and faithful,

[00:04:12] trusting that he is working even when we don't see the full picture yet.

[00:04:17] The blind man in Mark 8 could see, but his vision was blurry.

[00:04:23] He saw people as trees.

[00:04:25] How many times in life do we feel the same way?

[00:04:29] We sense that God is moving.

[00:04:31] We see progress, but it's not quite what we expected.

[00:04:36] We pray for clarity, but things still seem blurry.

[00:04:41] In these moments, it's easy for us to get discouraged and lose hope.

[00:04:46] But here's the truth.

[00:04:48] God hasn't finished.

[00:04:50] He still has work that he's doing in you.

[00:04:53] So just because you're in a stage where things are blurry doesn't mean

[00:04:57] the full blessing isn't coming.

[00:05:00] 1 Corinthians 13 and 12 speaks to this.

[00:05:04] And it reads,

[00:05:06] For now we see only a reflection as in the mirror.

[00:05:10] Then we shall see face to face.

[00:05:13] Right now we see in part.

[00:05:15] Right now we see in part.

[00:05:18] But there will come a time when God will make everything clear.

[00:05:22] The challenge for us is to remain faithful during this stage

[00:05:26] when we only see in part.

[00:05:29] Knowing that God's full revelation is on its way.

[00:05:33] Now let's focus on what we should do while we're waiting for the full blessing to come.

[00:05:39] The man in the story didn't give up after seeing people as trees.

[00:05:44] He didn't throw his hands up in frustration and say,

[00:05:48] Is this as good as it's going to get?

[00:05:51] Instead he stayed with Jesus and received a second touch that fully restored his vision.

[00:05:57] In our lives, when we're in the in between phase, we need to keep going.

[00:06:04] Keep praying.

[00:06:05] Keep trusting.

[00:06:07] The temptation is to give up when the blessing doesn't come immediately

[00:06:10] or when we think things don't look the way we expected.

[00:06:15] But that's when diligence is most important.

[00:06:19] Galatians 6 and 9 encourages us,

[00:06:23] Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.

[00:06:32] God's timing is perfect and the key is to stay faithful during the waiting period.

[00:06:38] There's also a lesson here about being faithful with the partial blessing.

[00:06:44] Sometimes God gives us just a glimpse of what's to come

[00:06:48] and it's easy to dismiss it because it's not the full thing.

[00:06:54] But the partial blessing is still a blessing

[00:06:58] and it's important to be thankful for what God has already done,

[00:07:01] even when we're still waiting for more.

[00:07:05] In Luke 16 verse 10 Jesus says,

[00:07:09] Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.

[00:07:15] If we can be faithful in the small things, in the early stages of blessings,

[00:07:21] God will entrust us with more.

[00:07:23] Instead of focusing on what we haven't received,

[00:07:27] we should focus on being grateful for what God has already done

[00:07:30] and trust that he will bring the rest in his perfect timing.

[00:07:34] Finally, we must remember that God is a God of abundance.

[00:07:39] Just because the blessing comes in stages

[00:07:42] doesn't mean we should lower our expectations.

[00:07:45] The man in Mark 8 could have settled for blurry vision,

[00:07:49] but Jesus had more in store for him.

[00:07:52] Likewise, we shouldn't settle for halfway blessings or incomplete breakthroughs.

[00:07:58] God wants to give us more than we can ask or imagine,

[00:08:02] but we have to trust him and wait for the fullness of his promise.

[00:08:08] Ephesians 3 and 20 reminds us

[00:08:11] down to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we can ask or imagine,

[00:08:18] according to his power that is at work within us.

[00:08:22] Even when it feels like we're stuck in the blurry phase,

[00:08:26] we need to believe that God has more for us.

[00:08:30] He's able to exceed our expectations,

[00:08:33] but we have to be patient and wait on his timing.

[00:08:37] Brothers and sisters,

[00:08:39] God works in stages and sometimes blessings come step by step.

[00:08:44] Our job is to remain diligent and keep trusting

[00:08:49] and seeking him, knowing that he who began a good work in you

[00:08:53] will carry it to completion.

[00:08:56] As you go through this week, ask yourself,

[00:09:00] what do I see?

[00:09:02] And more importantly, am I trusting God to bring clarity and fullness in his timing?

[00:09:08] Stay faithful, keep your eyes on him,

[00:09:12] and remember the full blessing is on its way.

[00:09:17] I thank you for spending time with me on today,

[00:09:20] and I look forward to our conversation on tomorrow.

[00:09:24] Until then, God bless.
