In business, just like in life, we often desire a greater harvest—whether that’s more profits, a wider reach, or more satisfied customers. But how do we get there? [00:00:37] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the word of truth and learning how to apply it to our daily lives. You may contact Elgin at the address given at the end of the broadcast. And now here's Elgin.

[00:01:02] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus to Christ, to another edition of The Bible Speaks on Business, where we explore how biblical principles can guide and elevate your professional lives. And today we'll be talking about a critical lesson for business success. If you want a greater harvest, sow more seed.

[00:01:28] [SPEAKER_01]: Our inspiration today comes from 2 Corinthians 9, verse 6. Reading from the New International Version, it reads,

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Remember this, whoever sows sparingly will also reap sparingly. Whoever sows generously will also reap generously. In business, just like in life, we often desire a greater harvest, whether that's more profit, a wider reach, or more satisfied customers. But how do we get there? The answer lies in this simple truth.

[00:02:08] [SPEAKER_01]: If we want our business is true. If we want our businesses to thrive, we must sow more seed. So today we'll dive into how this applies to business and why creating more value for others through our products and services is key to a thriving enterprise.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_01]: The biblical principle of sowing and reaping applies directly to business. In 2 Corinthians 9 and 6, Paul reminds us that the measure we use in giving is the measure we will receive. This applies to the way we invest in others and our teams and our products and ultimately in the value we deliver to our customers.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_01]: In business, sowing seeds means pouring into the very thing that create value, whether that's enhancing your products, improving customer service, or investing in the development of your employees.

[00:03:05] [SPEAKER_01]: The more you invest in providing quality and excellence, the more abundant your harvest will be.

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_01]: When you bless others through your work, God multiplies those efforts and brings back an even greater return.

[00:03:20] [SPEAKER_01]: God multiplies those efforts and brings them back in a greater return.

[00:03:27] [SPEAKER_01]: But here's where we often miss the mark.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we hold back, hesitant to invest more, thinking it will cut into our profits or take up too much of our time.

[00:03:40] [SPEAKER_01]: But the Bible reminds us that one who sows sparingly reaps sparingly.

[00:03:46] [SPEAKER_01]: In other words, if we're stingy with our efforts, investments, or innovations, we cannot expect to reap an abundant harvest.

[00:03:54] [SPEAKER_01]: One of the most powerful ways we can glorify God in our business is by blessing others through the value we create.

[00:04:03] [SPEAKER_01]: Whether you're providing a product or service, ask yourself, am I truly serving my customer?

[00:04:10] [SPEAKER_01]: Am I adding value to their lives?

[00:04:15] [SPEAKER_01]: It's easy to get caught up in numbers, whether it's revenue, profit, or market share.

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_01]: But let's remember that our business exists not to just serve ourselves, but to serve others.

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: God has given us talents, skills, and opportunities for a reason.

[00:04:33] [SPEAKER_01]: To use them to bless others and to make a positive impact.

[00:04:39] [SPEAKER_01]: Colossians 3 and 23 says,

[00:04:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters.

[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_01]: When we put our heart into creating the best possible product or service, we're serving God by serving people.

[00:04:58] [SPEAKER_01]: When our work blesses others, whether by solving a problem, providing joy, or meeting a need, we're aligning ourselves with God's purpose for our business.

[00:05:10] [SPEAKER_01]: So if we want a greater harvest in terms of success, recognition, or profit, we need to ask, how can I create more value?

[00:05:19] [SPEAKER_01]: How can I sow more seeds in the form of an excellent product, exceptional service, or meaningful relationship with clients and employees?

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_01]: The harvest doesn't just come from the work we put into our products and services.

[00:05:34] [SPEAKER_01]: It also comes from the way we invest in people, meaning our customers, employees, and partners.

[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_01]: Relationships are one of the most valuable assets in any business.

[00:05:46] [SPEAKER_01]: And when we sow generously into those relationships, we create loyalty, trust, and long-term success.

[00:05:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Imagine a business that only focuses on transactions.

[00:05:58] [SPEAKER_01]: Making a sale and moving on to the next customer.

[00:06:01] [SPEAKER_01]: Compare that to a business that builds relationships, takes time to understand customers' needs, and goes above and beyond to meet them.

[00:06:11] [SPEAKER_01]: Which one do you think will reap the greatest harvest?

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_01]: The answer is clear.

[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_01]: Building relationships means treating customers as more than just sales figures and treating employees as more than just workers.

[00:06:27] [SPEAKER_01]: Proverbs 11 and 25 tells us,

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_01]: A generous person will prosper.

[00:06:32] [SPEAKER_01]: Whoever refreshes others will be refreshed.

[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_01]: When we pour into others, we are refreshed in return.

[00:06:40] [SPEAKER_01]: This principle holds true in business.

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_01]: If you invest generously in the people around you,

[00:06:47] [SPEAKER_01]: they will, in turn, invest in your business by being loyal customers,

[00:06:52] [SPEAKER_01]: motivated employees, or supportive partners.

[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_01]: One of the most beautiful aspects of sowing and reaping is that God is the one who multiplies our efforts.

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_01]: When we trust God with our business,

[00:07:06] [SPEAKER_01]: he takes the seeds we sow,

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_01]: whether they are financial investments,

[00:07:10] [SPEAKER_01]: time spent improving products,

[00:07:12] [SPEAKER_01]: or relationships we build,

[00:07:14] [SPEAKER_01]: and he multiplies them beyond what we could imagine.

[00:07:18] [SPEAKER_01]: 2 Corinthians 9 and 10 says,

[00:07:22] [SPEAKER_01]: Now he who supplies seed to the sower and bread for food will also supply and increase your store of seed

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_01]: and will enlarge the harvest of your righteousness.

[00:07:34] [SPEAKER_01]: God provides the resources we need to sow,

[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_01]: and when we sow generously,

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_01]: he is faithful to increase our store of seeds and enlarge our harvest.

[00:07:45] [SPEAKER_01]: Sometimes we hesitate to sow more seed because we're afraid we won't have enough left for ourselves.

[00:07:51] [SPEAKER_01]: But the Bible teaches us to trust God's provision.

[00:07:55] [SPEAKER_01]: He is the source of everything we have,

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_01]: and when we invest in others,

[00:08:01] [SPEAKER_01]: he supplies even more seed for us to continue sowing.

[00:08:05] [SPEAKER_01]: The message is clear.

[00:08:06] [SPEAKER_01]: If we want our businesses to thrive,

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_01]: we must sow more seed.

[00:08:11] [SPEAKER_01]: This means creating more value for others,

[00:08:14] [SPEAKER_01]: whether it's through better products,

[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_01]: exceptional service,

[00:08:18] [SPEAKER_01]: or building stronger relationships.

[00:08:20] [SPEAKER_01]: It means being generous with our time,

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_01]: talents,

[00:08:23] [SPEAKER_01]: and resources,

[00:08:25] [SPEAKER_01]: knowing that God will multiply what we give.

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_01]: As we do this,

[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_01]: we not only create a greater harvest for ourselves,

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_01]: but also bring glory to God.

[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_01]: Our businesses become instruments of his blessing,

[00:08:39] [SPEAKER_01]: and we reflect his character in the way we serve others.

[00:08:43] [SPEAKER_01]: If you want to see a greater harvest in your business,

[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_01]: invest in the value you create,

[00:08:49] [SPEAKER_01]: bless others through your work,

[00:08:50] [SPEAKER_01]: and trust God to multiply your efforts.

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_01]: Brothers and sisters,

[00:08:55] [SPEAKER_01]: I thank you for joining me on today.

[00:08:57] [SPEAKER_01]: I hope you have a wonderful and restful weekend,

[00:09:01] [SPEAKER_01]: and I look forward to our conversation on Sunday.

[00:09:05] [SPEAKER_01]: Until then,

[00:09:06] [SPEAKER_01]: God bless.
