The Bible Speaks - Mustard Seed Faith

[00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of Yeshua HaMashiach to another edition of The Bible Speaks, where we're studying God's word together. Today's discussion is titled, Mustard Seed Faith.

[00:01:23] There are times in life when you don't know what comes next. You've planned, you prayed, you took action, you believe you were walking in God's will, but now things look unclear.

[00:01:39] Maybe it's your health, or your relationship, or your finances. Maybe it's your family, your job, or your peace of mind. You love God. You have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. You read the Bible. You give. You serve when you can. You try to do what's right.

[00:02:02] But your present situation has allowed fear to grow, and now your mind is going into panic mode. That is when we need mustard seed faith. Let us pray.

[00:02:17] Father God, thank you for being faithful, even when we feel afraid. Strengthen our faith today. Remind us that our situations are temporary, but you are eternal. Help us trust your word, lean on your promises, and keep walking even when the path is unclear.

[00:02:38] Let this message encourage someone who feels overwhelmed to believe again. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen. In Matthew 17 20, Jesus tells his disciples that if they have faith as small as a mustard seed, they can speak to a mountain and it will move.

[00:03:02] That is a powerful image because the mustard seed is very small. Jesus was not saying we need large, loud, impressive faith to see God move. He was teaching that real faith, even when it feels small, is powerful when it's placed in the right one.

[00:03:24] Sometimes we think faith means we never feel fear. Faith means we never feel the weight of what is happening. Faith means we don't let the fear become our final authority. You can feel concern and still trust God. You can have questions and still believe. You can cry and still pray. You can be tired and still keep walking.

[00:03:52] Mustard seed faith says, Lord, I do not see the whole road, but I trust the one who does. This connects us to what we discussed in waiting on God. Waiting does not mean doing nothing. It means seeking counsel from the one who knows. It means refusing to apply only natural thinking to spiritual living.

[00:04:15] When life becomes unclear, when life becomes unclear, we have to remember that God sees what we cannot. Psalm 56 and 3 says, When I am afraid, I put my trust in you. Notice David does not say, I never get afraid. He says, when I'm afraid. That means fear may show up, but trust has to answer.

[00:04:43] And sometimes trust sounds simple. Lord, help me. Lord, guide me. Lord, strengthen me. Lord, I believe. Help my unbelief. The last prayer comes from Mark 9, verse 24, where a father brings his struggling son to Jesus and says, I do believe. Help me overcome my unbelief. That is mustard seed faith.

[00:05:13] It's honest enough to admit weakness, but humble enough to bring that weakness to Jesus. There are seasons when your brain may go into panic mode. You begin calculating everything that could go wrong. You think about bills, reports, doctor visits, conversations, and responsibility. Before long, fear has built a mountain in your mind.

[00:05:41] But Jesus reminds us that mountains can move. The mountain may not always move the way we expect it. Sometimes God moves the situation. Sometimes God moves the people into place or moves us into wisdom, patience, discipline, or courage. But when faith is placed in him, God is always working.

[00:06:09] Romans 8 and 28 reminds us that in all things, God works for the good of those who love him. That does not mean everything feels good. It means God can work through everything for his purpose. So if you're in an uncertain season, remember this. The situation is not permanent, but your father is. The problem is not greater than his promise.

[00:06:37] The storm is not stronger than his word. The mountain is not bigger than the God who made it. Every up and down has purpose when surrendered to God. And as we talked about in Who Me? Even tough seasons do not excuse us from faithfulness. Sometimes the way we endure becomes the testimony someone else needs. So hold on till it must receive faith.

[00:07:07] Keep praying. Keep believing. Keep preparing. Keep trusting God's word. You may not know what is next, but God does. And if your faith feels small today, place it in the hands of a great God. Because with him, even mustard seed faith can move mountains.

[00:07:34] Heavenly Father, thank you for reminding us that even small faith matters when it's placed in you. Forgive us for the times fear has controlled our thoughts and weakened our trust. Help us remember your promises when life feels uncertain. Move the mountains that stand before us and strengthen us while we wait. Let our endurance bring you glory and become a testimony that blesses others.
