In a world filled with uncertainty, delays, accidents, spiritual warfare, and situations we do not fully understand, God reminds us that we are never moving through life alone. When we are walking in His will, and even while He is leading us into greater understanding of that will, He has angelic protection working on our behalf in ways we can see and in ways we may never know.
[00:00:37] Welcome to The Bible Speaks with your host Elgin Carelock. The Bible Speaks is a daily podcast dedicated to sharing the good news of Jesus Christ, rightly dividing the word of truth, and learning how to apply it to our daily lives. [00:01:02] Brothers and sisters, I welcome you in the name of our risen Savior, Jesus Christ, to another edition of The Bible Speaks, where we're studying God's word together. Today's discussion is titled, Angels. Our scripture inspiration comes from Psalm 91, verses 11-12.
[00:01:32] And reading from the New International Version, it reads, What a powerful promise!
[00:01:53] In a world filled with uncertainty, delays, accidents, spiritual warfare, and situations we do not fully understand, God reminds us that we're never moving through life alone.
[00:02:09] When we are walking in His will, and even while He is leading us into a greater understanding of that will, He has angelic protection working on our behalf, in ways we can see and in ways we may never know. Let us pray. Heavenly Father, thank you for your love, protection, and constant care over our lives.
[00:02:35] Thank you that even when we cannot see what is happening around us, you are still watching, guiding, and guarding us. Open our heart today to trust you more deeply, walk more confidently, and rest in the knowledge that you are faithful. Help us to focus on your word, serve others well, and leave fear behind. In Jesus Christ's name we pray.
[00:03:05] Amen. One of the greatest mistakes we make as believers is thinking that if we can't see God working, then maybe He's not working at all. But scripture teaches us otherwise. There is activity around the child of God that goes far beyond what our natural eyes can perceive.
[00:03:28] God is always present, always aware, and always able to send help exactly when it's needed. Think about the times you were almost in an accident. The times when you were delayed and later realized that delay may have protected you. The times you felt something off and you changed direction. The times you came through a situation that could have gotten much worse than it did.
[00:03:58] Many of us call those things coincidence. But sometimes what we are really seeing is the mercy of God and the protection of angels at work. This doesn't mean we become mystical or fearful. It means we become grateful. It means we begin to understand that God's care is deeper than we imagined.
[00:04:23] Hebrews 1 and 14 says that angels are ministering spirits sent to serve those who will inherit salvation. That means the children of God are not abandoned to chance. Heaven is involved. God has resources beyond this natural world. And He is fully able to use them to keep, protect, strengthen, and direct His people.
[00:04:50] I think this ties beautifully to what we talked about in Filled with Power. We're not expected to carry life by ourselves. God gives us His spirit within us and surrounds us with His care. So the answer to fear is not more control. It's deeper trust. Psalm 34 and 7 reads, The angel of the Lord encamps around those who fear Him, and He delivers them.
[00:05:20] Notice that word encamps. This is not casual language. It paints a picture of surrounding, covering, and staying near. God doesn't offer temporary concern. He offers abiding protection. The goal of this truth is not for us to become obsessed with angels. The goal is for us to become more confident in God. Angels are servants. God is the source.
[00:05:50] Protection is not given so we can live recklessly. It's given so we can walk faithfully. You don't need to spend your life panicking about what might happen, or be ruled by fear over your situation. Your assignment is to stay close to God. Study His word for clarity. And ask, Lord, how do you want me to serve others today? As you do that, God will guide your steps.
[00:06:21] Proverbs 3 verses 5 through 6 reminds us to trust in the Lord with all our hearts and lean not to our own understanding. Why? Because our understanding is limited. We don't know all the dangers he has blocked. We don't know all the traps he's helped us avoid. We don't know all the ways he has preserved us for his purpose. But he does.
[00:06:49] There is also a beautiful picture in 2 Kings chapter 6 when Elisha's servant was afraid because an enemy army had surrounded them. Elisha prayed that the young man's eyes would be opened and suddenly he saw the mountain full of heavenly protection. The servant thought they were alone, but they were never alone and many of us need that reminder today.
[00:07:16] You may feel surrounded by pressure, uncertainty, sickness, or financial strain. But if you belong to God, you're not without help. Heaven is not silent. God is not absent. His protection is not weak. So instead of living anxious, live aware. Aware that God is with you. Aware that He's guiding you.
[00:07:45] Protecting you. From things seen and unseen. And aware that every extra day. Every spared moment. And every near miss. Is another opportunity to glorify Him by serving others well. Let that truth bring you peace. Let it calm your heart. Let it make you more focused. Not more fearful. Because when your life is in God's hands.
[00:08:16] You're safer than you think. Father God, thank you for your divine protection over our lives. Thank you for the dangers you have seen that we never saw. And for ways you have kept us through things we did not fully understand. Help us to trust you more and worry less. Keep our minds focused on your word. And our hearts committed to serving others in love.
[00:08:44] Give us clarity, peace, and confidence as we walk in your will. And let our lives be a testimony. That you are faithful to God, guide, and deliver your children. In Jesus Christ's name we pray. Amen. Amen. I thank you for joining me on today. And I look forward to our conversation next Sunday. Until then, God bless.
