[00:04:30] [SPEAKER_00]: with your people. The whole object guys is to get in touch with and help inspire as many Black
[00:04:36] [SPEAKER_00]: entrepreneurs to success as I can and that's the whole goal BLACKENTREPRENEURBLUEPRINT. So make
[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_00]: 2023 guys the year of growth and really hone in on these principles and other concepts that I talk
[00:04:50] [SPEAKER_00]: about to elevate your entrepreneur IQ and to grow your business. Now let's jump into today's content
[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: and we're talking about build your audience build your income. Now the difference between a
[00:05:03] [SPEAKER_00]: million dollar product launch and a hundred dollar product launch is really the size of your
[00:05:07] [SPEAKER_00]: audience and I say this ad nauseam but I have to remember not everybody has listened to the podcast
[00:05:13] [SPEAKER_00]: for a long period of time or this may be the first time you're listening to the podcast.
[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_00]: So I'm sure you've probably seen some gurus online talking about they launched a product
[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_00]: an online course or whatever and it was a million dollar product launch. Now most of these people
[00:05:30] [SPEAKER_00]: are not smarter than us but the one thing that they do understand is the difference between
[00:05:36] [SPEAKER_00]: a million dollar product launch and a hundred dollar product launch is the size of your audience.
[00:05:42] [SPEAKER_00]: You see your success basically is a function of the numbers so better numbers equal better income.
[00:05:49] [SPEAKER_00]: So if you have 100,000 people on your email list or in your audience that you can connect to at
[00:05:56] [SPEAKER_00]: any time and you have a 5% conversion rate that means you're going to convert 5000 people.
[00:06:03] [SPEAKER_00]: If you have 100 people in your audience on your email database and you have that same 5% conversion
[00:06:10] [SPEAKER_00]: you only convert five people so 5000 conversions versus five conversions and just say that it's
[00:06:17] [SPEAKER_00]: $10 a piece $50 a piece you can do the math. So it's not rocket science it's about
[00:06:23] [SPEAKER_00]: understanding and building foundational pieces to your business that are going to allow you to grow
[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_00]: your income and not just your income but grow the worth of your business the value of your business.
[00:06:36] [SPEAKER_00]: Remember your biggest asset guys is your database your biggest asset is your database
[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_00]: so if you have a large database then you'll be able to generate revenues as long as they're
[00:06:49] [SPEAKER_00]: qualified meaning people that have an interest in your product and or services okay so bear
[00:06:56] [SPEAKER_00]: with me today guys I'm still getting over this uh the sore throat this weather's been real crazy
[00:07:00] [SPEAKER_00]: so let me give you some real life examples of the difference between having an audience
[00:07:07] [SPEAKER_00]: and not having an audience and what that actually means to you. When I owned my mortgage company
[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_00]: at one point in time we had about 20 to 25 loan officers and there was one new loan officer
[00:07:19] [SPEAKER_00]: that I really liked he was a real nice guy young kid and I was trying to give him an
[00:07:25] [SPEAKER_00]: opportunity to be able to better his financial situation he was coming from an industry and a
[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_00]: job where he really wasn't making a lot of money but I knew he was a sharp kid and I knew that given
[00:07:37] [SPEAKER_00]: the right opportunity if he had the right work ethic in follow directions he could be successful.
[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_00]: So this loan officer used to walk around the office with about one to two files under
[00:07:50] [SPEAKER_00]: his arm going back to to our processors talking to the sales manager hey I'm trying to get these
[00:07:56] [SPEAKER_00]: loans closed and I used to tell him like dude you can't be satisfied or you can't be successful
[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_00]: if you only have one or two loans in your pipeline now versus our top loan officers
[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_00]: that at any period of time had anywhere from 15 to 20 loans processing or working in the system
[00:08:16] [SPEAKER_00]: and so this isn't an example of not having a large enough audience okay so if you're only working
[00:08:24] [SPEAKER_00]: with two loans and one of them falls out guess what you're not going to make that much money
[00:08:30] [SPEAKER_00]: because you're only going to be able to close possibly one loan if you have 15 or 20 loans
[00:08:35] [SPEAKER_00]: in your pipeline because you have a larger audience you're dealing with then you're
[00:08:40] [SPEAKER_00]: going to be able to take home those 40 50 60 thousand dollar checks when you close 10 12 loans
[00:08:46] [SPEAKER_00]: a month or whatever the compensation was but we had loan officers making 50 and 60 grand a month
[00:08:52] [SPEAKER_00]: easy top loan officer and so this is the difference between having a big audience
[00:08:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and having a small audience now let me give you some other examples of people you probably
[00:09:03] [SPEAKER_00]: have heard of before and I just want to show you the difference between having
[00:09:08] [SPEAKER_00]: it a big audience and not having a big audience and what it does to your income so you guys have
[00:09:14] [SPEAKER_00]: probably heard of Kylie Jenner she has a cosmetic brand cosmetic line out there now I was just doing
[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_00]: some research 2021 I believe with 2022 I'm not sure she did 130 million dollars per year in income
[00:09:29] [SPEAKER_00]: her net worth was 1.5 billion dollars now I just went on her instagram account and she has over
[00:09:37] [SPEAKER_00]: 377 million followers and she also has a huge email list now once again don't get it twisted
[00:09:44] [SPEAKER_00]: you don't own that instagram database okay and I talk about this all the time and I want to digress
[00:09:51] [SPEAKER_00]: real quick so you want to build a database that you own where you own the emails if for some reason
[00:09:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Kylie Jenner gets cut off of instagram and they shut her down that's 377 million people she's not
[00:10:05] [SPEAKER_00]: going to be able to connect with unless she has their email addresses okay now I'm sure she's
[00:10:12] [SPEAKER_00]: smart enough to understand that when people buy from her her cosmetic line that she obviously
[00:10:17] [SPEAKER_00]: has their email address and I'm sure she's doing a whole lot of marketing on email so I just
[00:10:23] [SPEAKER_00]: wanted to throw that in as a caveat but you see 130 million per year in income 1.5 billion
[00:10:30] [SPEAKER_00]: net worth 377 million instagram followers and a huge email list once again your income is
[00:10:38] [SPEAKER_00]: commensurate based on your audience another example is a youtuber called Mr. Beast now I never
[00:10:45] [SPEAKER_00]: really watched him but this is crazy he has 126 million youtube subscribers I'm gonna repeat that
[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_00]: 126 million youtube subscribers and he's estimated to be doing just off of youtube
[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_00]: 54 million dollars per year in earnings 54 million now in addition to that he's created Mr. Beast
[00:11:07] [SPEAKER_00]: burgers he has all merchandise he has all types of other ancillary income now once again
[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_00]: he does not own those youtube subscribers god forbid he gets cut down or shut down on youtube
[00:11:20] [SPEAKER_00]: then he's ass out and he's out of business now I'm pretty sure he's smart enough to be building
[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_00]: his database with emails also and the last example I want to give you guys is of a
[00:11:32] [SPEAKER_00]: podcaster named John Lee Dumas and he has a podcast called entrepreneur on fire that he started I
[00:11:39] [SPEAKER_00]: believe in 2012 and he's doing crazy numbers he actually puts up an income report so let
[00:11:45] [SPEAKER_00]: let me just give you some numbers for 2022 based on his income report he's generated 2.27 million
[00:11:53] [SPEAKER_00]: dollars now listen to these numbers over the lifetime of his podcast he has over 3800 episodes
[00:12:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and over 136 million downloads over the lifetime of his podcast now I was looking at the income
[00:12:09] [SPEAKER_00]: report and 81% of his income I believe last year actually came from sponsorships so we're
[00:12:16] [SPEAKER_00]: talking about being able to generate revenues based on your audience so when you're selling
[00:12:22] [SPEAKER_00]: sponsorships right well people are advertising on your podcast or whatever your youtube channel
[00:12:28] [SPEAKER_00]: whatever it is they want to know about the eyeballs they want to know about the audience
[00:12:33] [SPEAKER_00]: so John Lee Dumas like I said has over 136 million lifetime downloads on over 3,800 podcast episodes
[00:12:43] [SPEAKER_00]: now it's so funny because you know these numbers are crazy he's one of the top
[00:12:49] [SPEAKER_00]: podcasters in in in the world okay my number is pale in comparison to that now I'm doing
[00:12:56] [SPEAKER_00]: over 100,000 downloads per episode which is great but this guy is doing probably a million
[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_00]: downloads per episode right now and also what he does is he has a catalog of over 3,800 episodes
[00:13:09] [SPEAKER_00]: he comes out once a day to me that's overkill that's too much you got to you got to leave
[00:13:15] [SPEAKER_00]: him wanting more right so that that's the whole philosophy with him when he came out he said
[00:13:21] [SPEAKER_00]: there's no podcast that's doing a daily podcast on business and that was his niche
[00:13:27] [SPEAKER_00]: and so it's obviously paid off to the tune of 2.2 million dollars in 2022 and he has over 136
[00:13:35] [SPEAKER_00]: million lifetime downloads over 3,800 episodes so I want you guys to understand this
[00:13:43] [SPEAKER_00]: the correlation between your audience and your income okay that's why today's show is titled
[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_00]: build your audience build your income so if you don't have that audience that can generate
[00:13:55] [SPEAKER_00]: consistent revenues for you then you're not going to be making money on a consistent basis
[00:14:01] [SPEAKER_00]: and so I'm going to give you seven tips today to help you build your audience once again if
[00:14:08] [SPEAKER_00]: you're in the car you're working out you can't write this down make sure you get the show notes
[00:14:13] [SPEAKER_00]: go to blackentrepreneurblueprint.com at the bottom of every page it'll say newsletter sign up
[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_00]: or join us it's the same thing and the newsletter comes out every Monday and Thursday morning at
[00:14:25] [SPEAKER_00]: 10 a.m eastern standard time so you don't have to worry about writing it down if you get the
[00:14:30] [SPEAKER_00]: newsletter so tip number one create pertinent content that speaks to your audience create
[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_00]: pertinent content that speaks to your audience and when I say pertinent I'm talking about quality
[00:14:44] [SPEAKER_00]: information or content I'm not necessarily talking about a lot of junk unless that's what
[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_00]: your audience is used to okay so if I came on the podcast next week and I'm talking about
[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_00]: cooking right instead of entrepreneurship y'all be like yo what's up with Jay man what's his
[00:15:01] [SPEAKER_00]: dude doing so number one you want to create pertinent content that speaks to your audience
[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_00]: so one example I want to give you guys is this guy on instagram and his I think his handle is over
[00:15:14] [SPEAKER_00]: the fire cooking and I like to cook and I like to grill out and stuff so he has an amazing instagram
[00:15:20] [SPEAKER_00]: channel where he has these short one minute videos and is showing you how to cook different
[00:15:26] [SPEAKER_00]: things so um that's very pertinent create pertinent content that speaks to your audience and I'm a
[00:15:34] [SPEAKER_00]: foodie and I like to cook so I look forward to his posts every time he posts so that's number one
[00:15:41] [SPEAKER_00]: number two know what type of content is natural for you to create and this is very important guys
[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_00]: what type of content is natural for you to create certain communication styles are more
[00:15:53] [SPEAKER_00]: natural to you so you have audio video and written so there are only three types of communication
[00:16:00] [SPEAKER_00]: so for example if you like to talk audio may be your your way to communicate you may want to
[00:16:05] [SPEAKER_00]: have a podcast if you like to be on camera it's video if you don't like audio or video guess
[00:16:10] [SPEAKER_00]: what and you're good at writing then you can write blog posts you can write books or whatever
[00:16:15] [SPEAKER_00]: but know what type of content is natural for you to create okay it may be a combination of one or
[00:16:23] [SPEAKER_00]: two or all three so remember the highest form of content is video right and out of video you can
[00:16:30] [SPEAKER_00]: actually get written because you can have everything transcribed you can add that video transcribed
[00:16:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and you also have audio which you can strip out everything else and just leave the audio
[00:16:41] [SPEAKER_00]: so video is the highest form of content that you can create so you just want to make sure
[00:16:47] [SPEAKER_00]: based on what industry you're in and how your people want to receive the information
[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_00]: you need to make sure that you're using the right medium or mediums okay so understand how your
[00:16:59] [SPEAKER_00]: avatar your target customer wants to receive information all right but like i said audio
[00:17:06] [SPEAKER_00]: video written there's only three ways to communicate and what we're talking about today guys is
[00:17:11] [SPEAKER_00]: building your audience build your income tip number three be consistent delivering your content on a
[00:17:19] [SPEAKER_00]: regular basis be consistent delivering your content on a regular basis now anybody who's
[00:17:25] [SPEAKER_00]: listening to black entrepreneur blueprint knows every monday morning five a.m eastern standard time
[00:17:31] [SPEAKER_00]: you get new heat from j jones and black entrepreneur blueprint all right basically i'm
[00:17:37] [SPEAKER_00]: consistent every week five a.m monday morning eastern standard time you can bet on a new episode
[00:17:45] [SPEAKER_00]: from from me and black entrepreneur blueprint and this is episode number what 447 so for 447
[00:17:53] [SPEAKER_00]: weeks straight you've gotten this content so i'm very consistent about delivering my content
[00:18:00] [SPEAKER_00]: now i've talked to a couple of my friends who were talking about starting podcast and this
[00:18:05] [SPEAKER_00]: is an example and they were like oh yeah um i said what's your gonna be your frequency i'll probably do
[00:18:12] [SPEAKER_00]: it maybe every two weeks or when it hits me i'm like yo stop stop right there i said don't even waste
[00:18:18] [SPEAKER_00]: your time bro i said if you're not doing a podcast at least once a week you're not going to get
[00:18:24] [SPEAKER_00]: any traction people need to know when your podcast is dropping and they need to be able to expect
[00:18:30] [SPEAKER_00]: that okay they need to look forward to that and so he was like damn i didn't realize i'm like yeah
[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_00]: bro you gotta be consistent every two weeks is not consistent enough that gives you 26 episodes a year
[00:18:44] [SPEAKER_00]: you know just willy nilly on the humbug you drop a podcast that that you know you can be successful
[00:18:51] [SPEAKER_00]: with that here and there but you need to have that consistency where your audience knows
[00:18:56] [SPEAKER_00]: when they can expect new content from you so that's tip number three be consistent delivering your
[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: content on a regular basis tip number four on building your audience building your income is
[00:19:09] [SPEAKER_00]: identify and solve a problem for your audience identify a problem and solve a problem for your
[00:19:16] [SPEAKER_00]: audience guys i'm gonna tell you this is the easiest way to grow your audience if there's an
[00:19:21] [SPEAKER_00]: audience that has a problem and you can solve it be it your video your audio or your written content
[00:19:30] [SPEAKER_00]: then this is the simplest thing to do for example what happens if you taught entrepreneurs how to
[00:19:36] [SPEAKER_00]: write a book to increase their sales now that's a problem most people don't know how to write a
[00:19:42] [SPEAKER_00]: book right so if you're able to teach them that then you're going to be able to generate
[00:19:48] [SPEAKER_00]: revenues and you're going to be able to build an audience entrepreneurs that are interested in
[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_00]: writing a book to help create sales or further their business okay identify and solve a problem
[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_00]: for your audience and once you you get into that mode people don't care if you're black white red
[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_00]: yellow green short tall fat skinny or whatever if there's a problem that you can solve for
[00:20:12] [SPEAKER_00]: somebody then guess what people are going to pay you that money you just have to be able to
[00:20:18] [SPEAKER_00]: identify that problem and you're also going to have to be able to get into their mind frame
[00:20:24] [SPEAKER_00]: and understand what they truly want so whatever your product or service is is the solution
[00:20:30] [SPEAKER_00]: to their problem oh you're an entrepreneur you want to write your first book but you don't
[00:20:35] [SPEAKER_00]: know how guess what i have a great program for that or i have a coaching business or
[00:20:40] [SPEAKER_00]: consulting business whatever it is so identify a problem and solve it for your audience and you
[00:20:47] [SPEAKER_00]: definitely will build a bigger audience and obviously generate revenues and income if that
[00:20:54] [SPEAKER_00]: solution obviously solves the problem that they have and you can use this for anything so another
[00:21:00] [SPEAKER_00]: example is uh you want to move from your apartment to a new home your first time home buyer
[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_00]: so hey i'm a mortgage guy let me help you navigate this whole process of buying your first home
[00:21:14] [SPEAKER_00]: i'm solving that problem and i'm going to make money doing so so number four identify and solve
[00:21:21] [SPEAKER_00]: a problem for your audience that's really guys the easiest way to grow your audience
[00:21:26] [SPEAKER_00]: to me that is hands down the easiest way all right number five help your audience get what
[00:21:33] [SPEAKER_00]: they want move them from point a to point b help your audience get what they want move them from point
[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_00]: a to point b and we're talking about building your audience building your income so if you want
[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_00]: to lose weight i can move you from point a to point b if you want to write a book i can move
[00:21:50] [SPEAKER_00]: you from point a to point b if you want to learn how to make handcrafted earrings i can
[00:21:55] [SPEAKER_00]: move you from point a to point b okay you may want to give them some tips to move them
[00:22:01] [SPEAKER_00]: from point A to point B. But what you're selling guys is the transformation. Your product or
[00:22:08] [SPEAKER_00]: service is just that, a product or service. But what you're really selling is the transformation
[00:22:13] [SPEAKER_00]: of being heavy to losing weight to get skinnier. You're selling the transformation of not knowing
[00:22:19] [SPEAKER_00]: how to write a book to write a book. Okay? You're selling the transformation of not
[00:22:24] [SPEAKER_00]: knowing how to make handcrafted earrings to making handcrafted earrings. So number
[00:22:30] [SPEAKER_00]: five, help your audience get what they want. And you move them from point A to B, identify
[00:22:36] [SPEAKER_00]: where they are. That's a and B. This is where they want to be. You handle what's in the middle.
[00:22:45] [SPEAKER_00]: I'm going to help you move from A to B. And this is the process that we're going to take.
[00:22:50] [SPEAKER_00]: And we're talking about building your audience, building your income. And I'm telling you
[00:22:55] [SPEAKER_00]: right now, guys, if you help your audience get what they want, then you're really going
[00:23:00] [SPEAKER_00]: to be able to build a solid audience and a solid foundation to help grow your income.
[00:23:05] [SPEAKER_00]: Tip number six, create valuable and simple lead magnets to build your audience and get
[00:23:11] [SPEAKER_00]: qualified leads. Now a qualified lead is someone that has an interest in your product
[00:23:17] [SPEAKER_00]: and or service. So if I'm selling hearing aids, and I'm trying to talk to somebody
[00:23:23] [SPEAKER_00]: that has, you know, great hearing, guess what? They're not a qualified lead for
[00:23:28] [SPEAKER_00]: me. And so what we want to talk about guys is lead magnets. So create valuable and simple
[00:23:33] [SPEAKER_00]: lead magnets to build your audience and get qualified leads. A lead magnet is just a piece
[00:23:39] [SPEAKER_00]: of content that somebody wants that you present to them, and they'll leave their name, email
[00:23:44] [SPEAKER_00]: address and possibly a text number. So your lead magnet can be something as simple as
[00:23:50] [SPEAKER_00]: a video tutorial. It could be a checklist, a cheat sheet. It could be a template. It
[00:23:55] [SPEAKER_00]: could be a free consultation. So for example, if you are a consultant, right? Say you're
[00:24:01] [SPEAKER_00]: doing a tax preparation or tax consulting, you can give a free consultation. That's
[00:24:07] [SPEAKER_00]: a lead magnet. Hey, you have you have an issues with your taxes. You know, here's
[00:24:12] [SPEAKER_00]: a free one hour consultation sign up here. That's a lead magnet. Another form of
[00:24:17] [SPEAKER_00]: lead magnet, like I said, could be a video tutorial. So say you're a software
[00:24:22] [SPEAKER_00]: company, you could actually do a video tutorial of how your software works. That's
[00:24:28] [SPEAKER_00]: a lead magnet. Get the free inside tutorial how to use ABC software, right? Also a
[00:24:34] [SPEAKER_00]: checklist, anything that's going to help people once again move from point A to
[00:24:39] [SPEAKER_00]: point B. Here's a checklist in writing your book, you're going to need this,
[00:24:43] [SPEAKER_00]: this, this and this also templates. When it comes to bookwriting, it's funny.
[00:24:49] [SPEAKER_00]: I have a template that is a software that actually lays out your books. So instead
[00:24:55] [SPEAKER_00]: of me going to get a type set or somebody to lay out my book, this software
[00:24:59] [SPEAKER_00]: that I have actually lays it out. So it's a template. So you want to get you
[00:25:04] [SPEAKER_00]: can give them tips on things. It doesn't matter, but you want to create a
[00:25:07] [SPEAKER_00]: valuable and simple lead magnet to build your audience. And I'm not going to
[00:25:12] [SPEAKER_00]: get into lead magnets in depth right now. But once again, you've all seen
[00:25:17] [SPEAKER_00]: them and you've all probably signed up for some. So hey, click here or put in
[00:25:22] [SPEAKER_00]: your email address and name to get this free checklist on how to build an
[00:25:26] [SPEAKER_00]: e-commerce business or put in your information to watch this video or come
[00:25:31] [SPEAKER_00]: to this webinar and training. All of those things are lead magnets and the
[00:25:35] [SPEAKER_00]: whole objective once again of a lead magnet is to build the database, which
[00:25:39] [SPEAKER_00]: is the audience. Everybody does it. Any company or entrepreneur or business
[00:25:45] [SPEAKER_00]: that doesn't have a database. I'm going to be real guys, y'all don't need to be
[00:25:49] [SPEAKER_00]: in business. If you don't have an audience now if you're starting, that's
[00:25:52] [SPEAKER_00]: one thing. But if you've been in business for any period of time and you
[00:25:56] [SPEAKER_00]: don't have an email database, you probably not going to be in business
[00:26:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that long. You might make it, you know, with your Instagram followers,
[00:26:04] [SPEAKER_00]: Twitter and all that good stuff. But God forbid, don't get shut down on
[00:26:08] [SPEAKER_00]: any of those social media platforms. You do not own the platform. You
[00:26:13] [SPEAKER_00]: own the email databases. You own the phone numbers. So that's why you want to
[00:26:18] [SPEAKER_00]: build that audience. You can use and leverage social media, but you want
[00:26:22] [SPEAKER_00]: to build your audience of stuff that you own an asset. You don't own
[00:26:27] [SPEAKER_00]: Instagram. Kylie Jenner gets kicked off for IG. There goes her 377
[00:26:33] [SPEAKER_00]: million subscribers. Okay. That she doesn't own that. But I know she's
[00:26:38] [SPEAKER_00]: smart enough to have a percentage of those subscribers sign up with
[00:26:42] [SPEAKER_00]: some type of email content or whatever that she's having because she can
[00:26:47] [SPEAKER_00]: control the email just like you can. And what we're talking about guys is
[00:26:51] [SPEAKER_00]: build your audience, build your income. And number seven last but not
[00:26:55] [SPEAKER_00]: least, all your content should be focused on building your email
[00:27:00] [SPEAKER_00]: database. I'm going to repeat that number seven or your content should
[00:27:05] [SPEAKER_00]: be focused on building your email database. Remember guys, the money is
[00:27:10] [SPEAKER_00]: in the list. That's where the money is. The money is in the list. So
[00:27:15] [SPEAKER_00]: yes, leverage social media, leverage Instagram, Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn,
[00:27:20] [SPEAKER_00]: TikTok, whatever it is, but try to generate and leverage those social
[00:27:25] [SPEAKER_00]: media platforms guys to be able to get the email addresses. And if you do
[00:27:29] [SPEAKER_00]: any text messaging, the phone numbers what I need you guys to
[00:27:33] [SPEAKER_00]: understand is that we're talking about principles here. All right, these are
[00:27:38] [SPEAKER_00]: seven tips but these are principles that you can use. Remember guys over the
[00:27:42] [SPEAKER_00]: years if you're in business for another five years, I guarantee you
[00:27:46] [SPEAKER_00]: there going to be other social media platforms that are out there.
[00:27:49] [SPEAKER_00]: Y'all remember Vine back in the day, right? Where's that at? Gone.
[00:27:54] [SPEAKER_00]: Periscope. Everybody was hot. Oh, you got to get on Periscope.
[00:27:58] [SPEAKER_00]: Periscope pretty much is gone. And these social media platforms are
[00:28:03] [SPEAKER_00]: going to come and they're going to go. Some are going to be super popular.
[00:28:07] [SPEAKER_00]: When Facebook came out, Facebook was the rage. Now Facebook is faded out.
[00:28:12] [SPEAKER_00]: And the reason Facebook bought Instagram is they wanted to stay relevant, right?
[00:28:17] [SPEAKER_00]: They knew Facebook now is an older demographic. It doesn't have to
[00:28:21] [SPEAKER_00]: pop with a juice that it used to have. And so just because Instagram
[00:28:27] [SPEAKER_00]: is hot now, Twitter and all that stuff and TikTok obviously is the
[00:28:31] [SPEAKER_00]: hottest new thing out there. All of that is going to change.
[00:28:35] [SPEAKER_00]: But if you have the email database built up, it doesn't matter.
[00:28:40] [SPEAKER_00]: And that's what you guys need to understand. Man, when I talk to you
[00:28:44] [SPEAKER_00]: entrepreneurs, I'm telling you the biggest thing is you don't have a big audience.
[00:28:49] [SPEAKER_00]: And that audience doesn't have to be 50,000 or 100,000 people in your audience.
[00:28:54] [SPEAKER_00]: It could be a thousand people. It could be 2000, 5000, whatever makes sense for you
[00:29:00] [SPEAKER_00]: in your business. But if you don't have that guys, I can guarantee you
[00:29:05] [SPEAKER_00]: you're not going to be able to build and scale and grow consistently.
[00:29:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Yes, you may have great months over the holiday or whatever,
[00:29:12] [SPEAKER_00]: where you're selling like crazy. But then in January, you might not sell
[00:29:16] [SPEAKER_00]: a quarter of what you sold in December. And it's not because your products
[00:29:20] [SPEAKER_00]: or services aren't any good. It's because you haven't taken time
[00:29:24] [SPEAKER_00]: to build a foundational piece to your business, which is basically your audience.
[00:29:29] [SPEAKER_00]: And the importance of having an audience goes across every industry,
[00:29:33] [SPEAKER_00]: every type of business. Have you ever had a or seen when a singer is going in a concert?
[00:29:39] [SPEAKER_00]: They put out their tour dates and then all of a sudden right before the tour starts,
[00:29:44] [SPEAKER_00]: the singer comes down with a laryngitis. Oh, we got to cancel this show or whatever.
[00:29:50] [SPEAKER_00]: The reason that a lot of these shows are canceled, trust me, I got friends in the industry
[00:29:54] [SPEAKER_00]: is because they weren't selling the tickets. They would have been in a 10,000 seat auditorium
[00:30:00] [SPEAKER_00]: convention center with 2000 people in there. They don't have the audience. So this thing cuts
[00:30:08] [SPEAKER_00]: across all industries. So if you had an audience or have an audience, you're going to make more
[00:30:14] [SPEAKER_00]: money. It's a function of the numbers. It's no rocket science. It's no magic potion. It's
[00:30:20] [SPEAKER_00]: none of this nonsense. It's a function of the numbers. And when I'm talking to you guys,
[00:30:27] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, one on ones, I'm doing coaching people just reaching out to me. The biggest thing,
[00:30:32] [SPEAKER_00]: guys, if you don't have an audience, you're not going to make consistent money. You're not
[00:30:36] [SPEAKER_00]: going to be able to scale and there's ways to be able to generate that audience and build a
[00:30:42] [SPEAKER_00]: responsive audience. And we're giving you seven tips today to do that. Number one,
[00:30:48] [SPEAKER_00]: create pertinent content that speaks to your audience. Number two, know what type of content
[00:30:53] [SPEAKER_00]: is natural for you to create, be it audio, video, written or a combination. Number three,
[00:30:59] [SPEAKER_00]: be consistent delivering your content, deliver it on a regular basis. Number four,
[00:31:04] [SPEAKER_00]: identify and solve a problem for your audience. I think that's the easiest way to build an
[00:31:08] [SPEAKER_00]: audience. Number five, help your audience get what they want. Move them from point A to point
[00:31:13] [SPEAKER_00]: B. Number six, you want to create valuable and simple lead magnets to build your audience
[00:31:18] [SPEAKER_00]: and get qualified leads. And number seven, all your content should be focused on building
[00:31:23] [SPEAKER_00]: your email database. The money is in the list family. That's where the money is. So if anything,
[00:31:31] [SPEAKER_00]: this is the beginning of 2023. If you do not have an email database of customers or
[00:31:38] [SPEAKER_00]: prospective customers, that's your audience is based on customers, current customers
[00:31:43] [SPEAKER_00]: and prospective customers. If you do not have a database, I'm talking about an email database,
[00:31:50] [SPEAKER_00]: that should be the number one thing you focus on right now. No audience equals no sales equals no
[00:31:59] [SPEAKER_00]: money. All right, you got to have an audience to talk to, you have to have an audience to sell
[00:32:05] [SPEAKER_00]: to, you got to have an audience to solve a problem for. And if you don't have that guys,
[00:32:11] [SPEAKER_00]: you're not going to be making any money on a consistent basis. So here's what you need to do
[00:32:16] [SPEAKER_00]: immediately if you do not have a database of your audience and your audience is comprised of
[00:32:22] [SPEAKER_00]: your current customers and prospective customers. The first thing you need to do is go get an email
[00:32:28] [SPEAKER_00]: auto responder. Now use convert kit.com where you can use a webber, you can use MailChimp
[00:32:35] [SPEAKER_00]: whatever you like to use. Now what you want to do is you want to create lead magnets,
[00:32:41] [SPEAKER_00]: something to make people raise their hand and say, yeah, I want this content. I want this video
[00:32:46] [SPEAKER_00]: tutorial. I want this ebook. I want this checklist. Make them put in their name and email address.
[00:32:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And sometimes if it makes sense, their phone number. Now you're building that database.
[00:32:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Okay, with that database, you can communicate with your audience at any time. Nobody is going
[00:33:03] [SPEAKER_00]: to stop you. Okay, Instagram's not going to be able to shut down that email communication.
[00:33:09] [SPEAKER_00]: Right. Twitter isn't going to be able to shut it down Facebook, YouTube, whatever,
[00:33:14] [SPEAKER_00]: you own those email that email and that database that is an asset. Now once you have that asset,
[00:33:21] [SPEAKER_00]: you can direct people to wherever you want to direct them. So you can email somebody and say,
[00:33:27] [SPEAKER_00]: hey, I have a live training or webinar going on. Here's the link to that. Oh,
[00:33:32] [SPEAKER_00]: hey, I'm doing a flash sale on my new product or service 30% off. Here's the link go to that.
[00:33:38] [SPEAKER_00]: Hey, I'm doing a new podcast episode. Bye. Bye. Bye. Here's the link to that. Go to that.
[00:33:45] [SPEAKER_00]: So when you own the contact information and you own the database, that's an asset.
[00:33:52] [SPEAKER_00]: And I'm going to say it again ad nauseam for those of you who've listened to the
[00:33:56] [SPEAKER_00]: podcast for any period of time. When borders bookstore went out of business,
[00:34:00] [SPEAKER_00]: bonds and nobles did not buy their physical stores. They did not buy their inventory.
[00:34:06] [SPEAKER_00]: They actually bought their database out of bankruptcy because that database was more valuable
[00:34:12] [SPEAKER_00]: than the brick and mortar stores. It was more valuable than the inventory because it was a
[00:34:19] [SPEAKER_00]: list of people that buy the same product or services that they sell. That's why the database
[00:34:26] [SPEAKER_00]: is so important when you sell or if you ever sell your business, if you do not have a database,
[00:34:33] [SPEAKER_00]: you're going to be cutting yourself short or selling yourself short. You can sell a business.
[00:34:39] [SPEAKER_00]: You literally can sell a database without selling a business. I don't know a lot of
[00:34:43] [SPEAKER_00]: you guys know that their list companies out there where you can actually sell your list
[00:34:49] [SPEAKER_00]: and earn money. So if you have a supplement, just say it's a weight loss supplement,
[00:34:54] [SPEAKER_00]: their list companies out there that will buy that and they will sell your lists
[00:34:59] [SPEAKER_00]: and they'll rent it out to other people and you'll make money from that.
[00:35:03] [SPEAKER_00]: That's how important and that's how big of an asset a database is.
[00:35:07] [SPEAKER_00]: Now, what does that database do for a company that sells supplements? So if I sell a weight
[00:35:13] [SPEAKER_00]: loss supplement and I get a database of 10,000 people that bought this other weight loss supplement,
[00:35:19] [SPEAKER_00]: guess what is that valuable to me? Hell yeah. That's cutting through all the traffic. I'm not,
[00:35:25] [SPEAKER_00]: I don't have to help build my initial database now because I bought a database or rented it.
[00:35:30] [SPEAKER_00]: You don't buy it. You actually rent it. You rented that database and now you're marketing
[00:35:35] [SPEAKER_00]: to people that have an interest in whatever product or service that you're selling.
[00:35:39] [SPEAKER_00]: And in this case, it's a weight loss supplement. That's how big database information is.
[00:35:47] [SPEAKER_00]: Amazon the reason Amazon is a multi trillion dollar business. It's not because of the
[00:35:53] [SPEAKER_00]: products that are sold on here. It's the database. So when you go on Amazon, they're
[00:35:58] [SPEAKER_00]: going to they already know what you like. They got all your information, your buying habits,
[00:36:04] [SPEAKER_00]: latest stuff, you're going to get stuff that shot to your email. You're going to get stuff
[00:36:08] [SPEAKER_00]: popping up on your computer once you buy stuff from Amazon. It's the database.
[00:36:14] [SPEAKER_00]: And if you ever sell on Amazon, what Amazon tells you is this, guess what? You can sell
[00:36:20] [SPEAKER_00]: your products or services here where your products here, but you're going to pay a
[00:36:24] [SPEAKER_00]: commission because these are our customers. You're going to pay 15% off the top because
[00:36:29] [SPEAKER_00]: we're sharing our customer list with you. I'm selling a supplement. Okay, my supplement
[00:36:36] [SPEAKER_00]: sells for $30, right? If I'm doing fulfillment by Amazon, I'm spending about 25%. Well,
[00:36:43] [SPEAKER_00]: they're taking about 25% of that $30 might even be 30% of that $30 because it's their
[00:36:51] [SPEAKER_00]: customer list and they tell you that. So if you sell on Amazon like I do,
[00:36:55] [SPEAKER_00]: you don't even get the people's email address that bought your product,
[00:37:00] [SPEAKER_00]: that product, that email address is owned by Amazon. So if you want to contact them in your
[00:37:05] [SPEAKER_00]: back office, you can send them an email, but it's encrypted. You don't even know what their
[00:37:10] [SPEAKER_00]: email address is. That's how important the data is. The money is in the data family.
[00:37:17] [SPEAKER_00]: It's in your list. That's the biggest asset of your business. And if you're running a
[00:37:22] [SPEAKER_00]: business, I'm going to say it again. If you're running a business and you don't have a database,
[00:37:26] [SPEAKER_00]: you don't need to be in business plain and simple. You don't need to be in business because
[00:37:31] [SPEAKER_00]: you're not taking this thing serious. When you build a successful sustainable business,
[00:37:36] [SPEAKER_00]: they're foundational principles that you need to put into place that are going to ensure
[00:37:42] [SPEAKER_00]: that you're successful. Now you could be throwing stuff against the wall and something
[00:37:47] [SPEAKER_00]: is going to stick. But if you have a database, you can make targeted assessments of what to offer
[00:37:53] [SPEAKER_00]: your audience. Your audience is going to tell you what they want. You can take surveys,
[00:37:59] [SPEAKER_00]: things, things sell well. Guess what? You know your audience wants it. If it doesn't
[00:38:04] [SPEAKER_00]: sell well, guess what? You know they don't want it. Companies, large companies do this all
[00:38:09] [SPEAKER_00]: the time. How many different sneaker lines or sneaker models are discontinued? How many car
[00:38:16] [SPEAKER_00]: models are discontinued? They're discontinued because they're not selling well. The database,
[00:38:22] [SPEAKER_00]: the data tells them that. Okay? The sales or lack thereof of sales tells them that. So if you're
[00:38:29] [SPEAKER_00]: not building a database, guys, you shouldn't even be in business. This is a foundational piece
[00:38:34] [SPEAKER_00]: to your success as an entrepreneur. I'm trying to tell you. So make sure that you start
[00:38:42] [SPEAKER_00]: building that database today. When you hear this, if you don't have a formalized database,
[00:38:47] [SPEAKER_00]: you need to put everything down, shut it all down and you need to start building that database.
[00:38:52] [SPEAKER_00]: Go get your email, auto responder, convert kit, Aweber, MailChimp, whatever you want to use,
[00:38:58] [SPEAKER_00]: and start creating that mailing email database to build your business. Foundational principles.
[00:39:05] [SPEAKER_00]: A lot of times we put the cart before the horse. We just want to get out there and sell
[00:39:10] [SPEAKER_00]: something. But let's start building a foundation. Once again, you can't build a skyscraper with
[00:39:16] [SPEAKER_00]: a weak ass foundation, right? You can't build something on sand. You need to build it on rock.
[00:39:22] [SPEAKER_00]: A skyscraper can't go that high if the foundation isn't in place. Okay? You can go wide. That means
[00:39:28] [SPEAKER_00]: throwing stuff on the wall every day, every week, every month and hoping something sticks.
[00:39:33] [SPEAKER_00]: Or you can go high by building a great foundation. And a database is the number one piece of the
[00:39:40] [SPEAKER_00]: foundation that you need to have. All right, real quick before we close it on out, make sure you
[00:39:45] [SPEAKER_00]: guys check out all the resources that I talked about at the beginning of the episode, my latest
