In this episode of the *Ask About My Faith* podcast, Jess and Abby have the pleasure of sitting down with Dr. Jeff May, a seasoned chiropractor and the owner of Advantage Health Center in Jordan, MN. Dr. Jeff has dedicated his life to helping people live healthier, happier lives through the gifts God has given him. With over two decades of experience in chiropractic care, his approach is deeply rooted in his faith, focusing on the holistic well-being of his patients. Dr. Jeff is not just a healthcare provider; he’s a mentor, leader, and advocate for integrating faith into everyday life.

In Part 1, Dr. Jeff shares his powerful journey of coming to know the Lord during his high school years, a transformative time that shaped his path. He recounts a pivotal moment in college when a friend's desperate plea for salvation during a snowy drive opened the door for him to share his faith. This experience solidified his belief that "inaction isn’t an option," a sentiment that has guided him both personally and professionally, including in challenging relationships like with his estranged father-in-law.

In Part 2, the conversation deepens as Dr. Jeff discusses how witnessing God's intelligent design in the human body has led to numerous faith-based discussions at his clinic. He shares how playing Christian music, supporting clients through their struggles, and honoring widows in his community are all part of his mission to glorify God through his work. Dr. Jeff's story is one of love, compassion, and urgency to share the gospel, making this a must-listen episode for anyone looking to integrate their faith into their daily lives.

[00:00:03] [SPEAKER_00]: Welcome to the Ask About My Faith Podcast, where our hope is to inspire everyday faith

[00:00:08] [SPEAKER_01]: conversations. I'm Jess. And I'm Abby. Today we're back with Dr. Jeff May. If you missed

[00:00:14] [SPEAKER_01]: part one, be sure to start there. Jeff leaves us with a powerful reminder that inaction

[00:00:20] [SPEAKER_01]: is not an option. Jeff is a passionate chiropractor at Advantage Health Center in Jordan, Minnesota,

[00:00:27] [SPEAKER_01]: dedicated to helping people live healthier, happier and more productive lives. Today he'll share how

[00:00:38] [SPEAKER_01]: recognizing God's intelligent design in the human body sparks faith conversations at his clinic

[00:00:44] [SPEAKER_01]: all the time. From playing Christian music to walking with clients through tough times,

[00:00:49] [SPEAKER_01]: Jeff's love, compassion and urgency to help others know the Lord really shines through. Let's jump in.

[00:01:01] [SPEAKER_00]: Well, Jeff Advantage Health Center is a big part of what you do. It's a big part of your life

[00:01:08] [SPEAKER_00]: these days. Tell us a little bit about how faith impacts what you do. Can we start there?

[00:01:15] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, absolutely. I'll tell you what. School takes a while, right? No matter what practice or

[00:01:25] [SPEAKER_02]: educated career people go down. So mine just happened to be in... I really, really want to

[00:01:30] [SPEAKER_02]: know what makes a body healthy and what makes it unhealthy and how I can help people become

[00:01:33] [SPEAKER_02]: healthier, happier, more productive through a natural side. So I chose a natural side because

[00:01:39] [SPEAKER_02]: I didn't want to tell parents that their kids were dying of cancer. I didn't want that.

[00:01:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. I'm not built for crisis care. I'm so grateful we have crisis care in the United States.

[00:01:51] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm built for after the fires are put out or how do we prevent fires or how do we avoid those fires

[00:01:56] [SPEAKER_02]: when inevitably, like I said, even last week on part one of this, we talked about my father in

[00:02:04] [SPEAKER_02]: law, massive heart attack in the street. I could be the best adjuster in the world. He's not

[00:02:09] [SPEAKER_02]: coming back. So I chose a natural healthcare route. So we were blessed enough to build a

[00:02:14] [SPEAKER_02]: beautiful health center a few years ago. I've been in practice for 17, almost 18 years and inevitably

[00:02:21] [SPEAKER_02]: going through and learning how the body works. Like there's a... There's the beautiful thing.

[00:02:26] [SPEAKER_02]: There's an educated design to the body. You got to be absolutely blind if you can't see God

[00:02:31] [SPEAKER_02]: created this thing. Let alone then my wife and I had four kids. I wanted zero kids,

[00:02:37] [SPEAKER_02]: but she couldn't keep her hands off me. So now we have four. Sorry.

[00:02:40] [SPEAKER_01]: Sorry, what's her name on your phone again? Yeah, Smoke and Hot Wife. Yeah, for sure.

[00:02:46] [SPEAKER_02]: And she's made beautiful children. So praise the Lord. No, I love kids.

[00:02:51] [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, long story short, like being a parent and then being a practitioner

[00:02:54] [SPEAKER_02]: in the office, you see intelligence. Like you can see an intelligent design.

[00:03:00] [SPEAKER_02]: How do I go in and assess that there's an interference between communication between

[00:03:04] [SPEAKER_02]: a brain and body and then be able to assess that, remove it with a specific chiropractic adjustment

[00:03:09] [SPEAKER_02]: and then watch the body heal? The only reason chiropractic works is because there's an

[00:03:12] [SPEAKER_02]: intelligence that your body's made smart and it's made to be healthy. You are fearfully

[00:03:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and wonderfully made. And so if that intelligent isn't in there, and I'm assuming someone

[00:03:25] [SPEAKER_02]: more intelligent had to put that intelligence in there, right? Because we are like our maker.

[00:03:30] [SPEAKER_02]: It didn't fall out of the sky because of meteor hit and at this temperature and all those things.

[00:03:35] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, there might have been a big bang, but that could have been just God snapping his fingers.

[00:03:39] [SPEAKER_02]: So in all of that, how do I apply that in the office? You know, when a new patient comes

[00:03:45] [SPEAKER_02]: in or a current existing patient, and I have the absolute best job in the world,

[00:03:51] [SPEAKER_02]: best job in the world for me, for sure, because I get to tell them like your body's smart.

[00:03:56] [SPEAKER_02]: I can get to tell them that. There's a concept I love in chiropractic. It's called

[00:04:00] [SPEAKER_02]: Adio above down inside out. Buckle up for this because guess where wisdom comes from, right?

[00:04:06] [SPEAKER_02]: So we talk about like in the brain starts above, goes down, down the spinal cord from the inside

[00:04:12] [SPEAKER_02]: to the outside. So your health is a reflection of your internal environment. Everything internal

[00:04:16] [SPEAKER_02]: shows up external. It is just a concept. Well, guess what? Kind of interesting how God works

[00:04:21] [SPEAKER_02]: above down inside out. And there's the concept of you flip it backwards called Oibu outside in

[00:04:28] [SPEAKER_01]: below up. Oibu doesn't work. My forehead is wrinkled with that one. Okay, yeah, it doesn't work.

[00:04:38] [SPEAKER_02]: I know. I know. I sit and I thought about these things a lot. So I'm just grateful somebody asked

[00:04:43] [SPEAKER_02]: me to talk about them because I'm tired of hearing myself talk about them. So that's great. So

[00:04:49] [SPEAKER_00]: faith is at the very fiber of even where you got started, why you got into chiropractic.

[00:04:57] [SPEAKER_00]: Do you find that you have faith conversations with whether it's employees, co-workers or clients?

[00:05:05] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So specifically on the patient side of things, no matter where they're at,

[00:05:11] [SPEAKER_02]: like they start to grasp the concept of oh yeah, the body is smart.

[00:05:15] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, why do you think it is smart? You know, you were created. I said you're

[00:05:18] [SPEAKER_02]: created for health, not sickness. So we like language is important. I tell them like you're

[00:05:23] [SPEAKER_02]: created. He didn't evolve smart like you were created smart and those things. And then

[00:05:29] [SPEAKER_02]: inevitably being in practice for as long as I have, you're going to have really,

[00:05:33] [SPEAKER_02]: really, really difficult scenarios for the patients to come up where you just

[00:05:37] [SPEAKER_02]: it's not your normal. I've had five patients commit suicide over the past,

[00:05:41] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, 17 years. I've attended kids funerals and everything in between. And so

[00:05:50] [SPEAKER_02]: those faith conversations become really, really important. And I found out this is that

[00:05:55] [SPEAKER_02]: when I ask a patient if I can pray for them, I've never had anybody say no.

[00:05:59] [SPEAKER_02]: And I've stopped delaying when that prayer happens. So that prayer happens like if they

[00:06:08] [SPEAKER_02]: say yes, it happens right there on the table. Right? Yeah. Like there isn't a hey, can I pray for you?

[00:06:14] [SPEAKER_02]: Sure. And then there's nothing. No, it happens now. Yes. Yeah. So that happens a lot. But like

[00:06:20] [SPEAKER_02]: through our educational process, that faith process, like faith is the core that that's

[00:06:24] [SPEAKER_02]: through every touch point in the office. So even with my team when we have team meetings.

[00:06:30] [SPEAKER_02]: Now this this can be more regular, but we've got these cards, these mind mastery cards,

[00:06:33] [SPEAKER_02]: and there's verses on them. So there's a verse and then on the back, it's like written in like a

[00:06:38] [SPEAKER_02]: positive affirmation on it. And we'll all hand them out. Like I'll have the patient or the

[00:06:43] [SPEAKER_02]: team members, I'll have them draw one week trying to keep one before every shift

[00:06:48] [SPEAKER_02]: and lock and load and get ready to go in that. And just making sure like I've never

[00:06:54] [SPEAKER_02]: really said, I sat down with my team and be like, Hey, where are you at?

[00:06:58] [SPEAKER_02]: But the beautiful part about it, and this is one thing for people who maybe are afraid

[00:07:03] [SPEAKER_02]: to share or you know, because you're going to be afraid to share share anyway. Like that's my advice.

[00:07:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Like there's no magic recipe good for you. You're a human being. You have fear. We all

[00:07:13] [SPEAKER_02]: fall short of the glory of God. So get over yourself. Having having those conversations

[00:07:20] [SPEAKER_02]: with the team, like I've never had anybody pull me aside and been like, Hey, I really don't

[00:07:24] [SPEAKER_02]: like you talking about Jesus in the office. Well, you know, that's pretty awesome. Because

[00:07:31] [SPEAKER_02]: that's what we fear. We think, Oh, like someone's going to be offended. Now they may not,

[00:07:35] [SPEAKER_02]: you know, go to the same church or do those things. That's great. But if we're here,

[00:07:40] [SPEAKER_02]: listen, you can't explain what we've seen the office of people getting better at the

[00:07:43] [SPEAKER_02]: miracles we've seen. Yeah, right. Even where we're at without like you think that's me,

[00:07:47] [SPEAKER_02]: you're full of it. Like there's no chance. Yeah, right. Right. So yeah, it's definitely

[00:07:52] [SPEAKER_02]: a chord each and every day through through what we get to do. Those those cards sound

[00:07:58] [SPEAKER_00]: like pretty cool resources. Do you have one that just comes to mind of either favorites or just

[00:08:03] [SPEAKER_02]: a recent one that was shared? So I will tell you, they are mind mastery cards and they

[00:08:09] [SPEAKER_02]: they're made by a good friend of mine, Dr. Matt Hubbard who's also chiropractor and

[00:08:13] [SPEAKER_02]: also a pastor out in San Diego, California. So he became a pastor later in his career.

[00:08:22] [SPEAKER_02]: So anyway, yeah, mind mastery cards. But there's there's a there's kind of like a daily blue pack.

[00:08:28] [SPEAKER_02]: There's a financial pack that has the same verse on it. I got a hydronomy, I believe.

[00:08:32] [SPEAKER_02]: And there's a red pack. I don't know what the red pack does because I just have the blue ones. So

[00:08:36] [SPEAKER_02]: the blue ones are the best and the green ones. But for example, one would be it could be

[00:08:44] [SPEAKER_02]: like a walk by faith, right? Not by sight. So it'll have that verse on the front and

[00:08:48] [SPEAKER_02]: on the back, it'll it'll say like the affirmation is like today I choose to walk by faith and not by

[00:08:54] [SPEAKER_02]: sight. Each and every step I take is going to be met with faith and not fear. Like that's kind of

[00:09:00] [SPEAKER_02]: like the affirmations are short and sweet. But yeah, so that'd be kind of an example of one.

[00:09:04] [SPEAKER_01]: Very cool. I like that. It sets the culture for your for your team too. You know where

[00:09:11] [SPEAKER_01]: you do you walk by faith and not by sight. So yeah, that's really sweet. I'm curious

[00:09:16] [SPEAKER_01]: for the people that you have had the opportunity to pray for as they're like on your table. Do

[00:09:21] [SPEAKER_01]: you any stories come to mind where it ended up being pretty significant either the conversation

[00:09:27] [SPEAKER_01]: or like a healing moment? Do you have one of those stories you could share with us?

[00:09:31] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, I have. Okay. So ironically, she was she was just in this morning, but there's

[00:09:38] [SPEAKER_02]: a couple that I've taken care of. So it says I've been in Jordan, like they're one of the

[00:09:46] [SPEAKER_02]: age they can have health issues and as that goes, well, there came to pass where

[00:09:52] [SPEAKER_02]: the husband of this couple who was one of the hardest working men I've ever met in my life

[00:09:56] [SPEAKER_02]: was terminally ill. He had some issues and they would come in together. They'd always come

[00:10:02] [SPEAKER_02]: in together for their adjustments. And you know, and then I asked was like, hey, can I just

[00:10:07] [SPEAKER_02]: pray? And I kind of need their their their faith journey is absolutely so I remember praying for

[00:10:11] [SPEAKER_02]: him. And it wasn't long after he passed away in his funeral and everything. And then there's

[00:10:18] [SPEAKER_02]: this huge gap where I didn't see the spouse. Like, did they just again, you know, and I almost

[00:10:24] [SPEAKER_02]: almost to the point where I was like, oh man, like I wonder, you know, I can't imagine it's about

[00:10:29] [SPEAKER_02]: me. Right? So many people think, well, what did I do? Like people think of you far less

[00:10:33] [SPEAKER_02]: than they think of themselves. Like, so I just learned that with age, like calm down,

[00:10:39] [SPEAKER_02]: probably has nothing to do with you, right? Was your heart in the right place? Yeah, absolutely.

[00:10:43] [SPEAKER_02]: Okay, then get you're fine. This is how I talk to myself, by the way. So but I remember having

[00:10:49] [SPEAKER_02]: that I was like, man, she just hasn't been in like, like it bothered me. But it turns out

[00:10:54] [SPEAKER_02]: like when she inevitably came back, like this was a place that she remembered him so much.

[00:11:00] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, and it was hard for her to be back in. But the only way she's back in

[00:11:06] [SPEAKER_02]: in doing is because she knows God has her here for a reason, right? Because like,

[00:11:10] [SPEAKER_02]: and it could have been part of the prayer could have just been how we live, right? There's never

[00:11:14] [SPEAKER_02]: one moment. There's like moments built up and then those create memories and

[00:11:17] [SPEAKER_02]: and that's how we create momentum as well, you know, as you go through life. And so

[00:11:22] [SPEAKER_02]: that happened just recently, I got adjusted this morning. She's been great. But I'll tell

[00:11:26] [SPEAKER_02]: you what, I've had more of those moments with husband and wives over the years.

[00:11:31] [SPEAKER_02]: So where like they have a hard time, like almost the first couple times they come

[00:11:35] [SPEAKER_02]: back, it's just always tears because it reminds them of their spouse, you know,

[00:11:38] [SPEAKER_02]: because that was a thing they always did. There's a gal named Emma and when her husband passed away,

[00:11:44] [SPEAKER_02]: Joe, he was this big old bow hunk of a guy like big check that she'd always call him a big bow

[00:11:50] [SPEAKER_02]: hunk. But when he died, he died like on a Monday, her adjustment was on Wednesday and she came in

[00:11:56] [SPEAKER_02]: like she didn't miss her adjustment. And we taught you, you know what to do? Here's

[00:12:00] [SPEAKER_02]: what I've learned when somebody passes away. Always for someone and I remember talking to Emma,

[00:12:06] [SPEAKER_02]: I go, Emma, what was your favorite thing about Joe? Your husband, right? Because when we say

[00:12:11] [SPEAKER_02]: we're sorry or our condolences, like sometimes you just don't have the words, right? But by

[00:12:17] [SPEAKER_02]: sharing your favorite thing about them, there's little ways where all of a sudden now, like

[00:12:21] [SPEAKER_02]: those traits and when they tell me, I'm telling you what, I'm listening closer than I've

[00:12:25] [SPEAKER_02]: listened to any class I've ever taken because I want to be better by having known what their

[00:12:31] [SPEAKER_02]: favorite part about this person was. You know what I mean? Like Abby, don't get me started.

[00:12:36] [SPEAKER_02]: I could talk about Big Randy all day long. You know what I mean? But that's how you honor them,

[00:12:41] [SPEAKER_02]: even though it brings up emotions. I mean, I've cried enough on these podcasts like I'm not

[00:12:45] [SPEAKER_01]: going to cry anymore. I think that's a good point though, because if Emma had said like,

[00:12:50] [SPEAKER_01]: oh man, her, his bare hugs, then it's like next time she comes in, I know I'm going to hug her

[00:12:55] [SPEAKER_01]: and maybe just let her breathe in a little bit and yeah, it gives you the opportunity to even

[00:13:02] [SPEAKER_01]: love them a little better. That's a great piece of advice. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Care has to go

[00:13:07] [SPEAKER_02]: far beyond then what happens on the table for sure. Yeah, definitely. There's someone more

[00:13:12] [SPEAKER_00]: recently you've been able to sew into, you know, someone who was a patient and

[00:13:18] [SPEAKER_00]: now there's kind of this ongoing connection that you've got with him and sounds like maybe

[00:13:23] [SPEAKER_00]: another couple guys. Can you tell us about that and just kind of how it started, how it's going?

[00:13:28] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. So that's been really interesting. So recently, he's a patient of mine,

[00:13:34] [SPEAKER_02]: has been a good friend. I've known him for quite a while and he just went through

[00:13:39] [SPEAKER_02]: a massive, massive, his life got turned upside down, right? Lost his career

[00:13:44] [SPEAKER_02]: and it wasn't a pretty loss. It was like a business partner, we've all heard these things,

[00:13:49] [SPEAKER_02]: like a business partner, he stood up for a lot of people, he fell on the sword and all of a sudden

[00:13:54] [SPEAKER_02]: now he was the scapegoat in this company. Lawyers involved, like all these things

[00:14:00] [SPEAKER_02]: and it's been hard because I remember when he called the meeting, it was me and another guy,

[00:14:04] [SPEAKER_02]: he called us over to his house and I would tell you that what transpired that morning was

[00:14:11] [SPEAKER_02]: nothing short of God intervening in this guy's life. Like if he had to lose his career for this

[00:14:16] [SPEAKER_02]: moment to happen because here's what happened, like we go in there and he pulls out a contract

[00:14:19] [SPEAKER_02]: and he has me and this other gentleman like, hey, can you read? It was basically,

[00:14:23] [SPEAKER_02]: can you read through the contract? What do you see? I need some help. I need another set of eyes

[00:14:27] [SPEAKER_02]: and ears on this thing. You guys are the guys I trust to help me navigate this. Like what

[00:14:32] [SPEAKER_02]: do I do? And it was miserable. Like he was defeated. This isn't a defeated person.

[00:14:37] [SPEAKER_02]: Like this is someone who's, who like literally is probably one of the most determined people

[00:14:41] [SPEAKER_02]: I've ever met in my life. And in a period about 35, 40 minutes, we like all of a sudden it was like,

[00:14:50] [SPEAKER_02]: hey, what if? What if this like, you know, it was the whole thing. I was like, hey,

[00:14:56] [SPEAKER_02]: do you think God's sovereign? And he's like, what do you mean? I'm like,

[00:15:07] [SPEAKER_02]: if it's going to happen, it's got to be part of God's will. And if it's not,

[00:15:11] [SPEAKER_02]: so here's the flip question. Like, do you think anything can happen outside of God's will?

[00:15:16] [SPEAKER_02]: Probably not because like God's God, right? I think we're still on step one. So

[00:15:23] [SPEAKER_02]: not that he intentionally hurts, but like God can use all things together, right? For the good

[00:15:27] [SPEAKER_02]: of those that love him. And so knowing that, like, I'll joke with my kids when someone's

[00:15:31] [SPEAKER_02]: like, well, God's not surprised by it. Like, why should I be like, like move on? Let's keep going.

[00:15:37] [SPEAKER_02]: And so we're able to say like, what if this is the greatest opportunity for you now to be free

[00:15:42] [SPEAKER_02]: of something that's going to fall and God has protected you in this because, and then all of a

[00:15:47] [SPEAKER_02]: sudden it was like, Oh, what about this? What about these things, things in this company?

[00:15:50] [SPEAKER_02]: I was like, dude, that's gonna be a train wreck. Like the fear, the doubt, the worry that's

[00:15:56] [SPEAKER_02]: been put on the other employees that I saw firsthand. I was like, and he's at the helm now,

[00:16:02] [SPEAKER_02]: get away from that thing. Like you don't want to be anywhere near with that because guess what?

[00:16:06] [SPEAKER_02]: It's a tinderbox. A tinderbox is basically one spark and there's going to be an explosion.

[00:16:12] [SPEAKER_02]: So we had this and then the mother friend, we prayed and this guy was broke. Like

[00:16:19] [SPEAKER_02]: broke to the point where he's bawling as if like he's shedding off what had happened.

[00:16:25] [SPEAKER_02]: You know, and that was just like a few months back. It wasn't, it was not that long ago.

[00:16:29] [SPEAKER_02]: And so since that time, what's been a really, really cool thing is there's a text group, right?

[00:16:34] [SPEAKER_02]: So we all, I for the most part, I can't stand being in group texts. Like I will be the person

[00:16:38] [SPEAKER_02]: that leaves because I'm like, I don't need more messages. But every single morning at least

[00:16:46] [SPEAKER_02]: one out of the three of us will drop a Bible verse will drop like a voice text prayer or a song

[00:16:52] [SPEAKER_02]: or something. And it's become like such a nice thing for me to be a part of, to where you're like,

[00:16:58] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm receiving out of that as well. So yeah, that was recently kind of what's been going on there.

[00:17:04] [SPEAKER_02]: And then seeing the transformation, I got to talk to him yesterday on the phone.

[00:17:08] [SPEAKER_02]: It was a good conversation to kind of check in. And I think phone calls these days are kind

[00:17:13] [SPEAKER_02]: of a thing in the past. And I think a lot of us would do better by like not texting and just

[00:17:17] [SPEAKER_00]: calling. Yeah, for sure. So wow, I love that. Very cool. Right. And it's, it's something that if we don't

[00:17:28] [SPEAKER_00]: get in community and if we're not intentional to build those relationships,

[00:17:32] [SPEAKER_00]: you know, it's like there's a lot of opportunity for us to support other people

[00:17:36] [SPEAKER_00]: and them to support us that we're missing. And you know, it sounds like

[00:17:43] [SPEAKER_00]: it was really on purpose that God had the three of you connected long before that.

[00:17:51] [SPEAKER_00]: And you know what? Relationships are, they're work sometimes. They take energy and it's worth it.

[00:17:59] [SPEAKER_02]: It's worth it. Yeah, one thing too like with that, I didn't know going into that meaning how that was

[00:18:04] [SPEAKER_02]: going to go. Like we totally like, we weren't given a whole lot of information. So it wasn't

[00:18:08] [SPEAKER_02]: like, oh, I got my notes. I got my Bible on holiday, ready to rock, you know. But anytime you feel

[00:18:14] [SPEAKER_02]: yourself and this is one thing that I've learned just through living and I need to remind myself as

[00:18:19] [SPEAKER_02]: well, is that anytime you feel like yourself being divided or distracted, that's not the work of God.

[00:18:27] [SPEAKER_02]: Right? That's those are tools in the enemy. So if you're feeling division and distraction,

[00:18:32] [SPEAKER_02]: I'm telling you what does it time to like gut check yourself because like that's,

[00:18:36] [SPEAKER_02]: that's not an intention. When you say the word community, I might get division and distraction.

[00:18:41] [SPEAKER_02]: And if the devil can't beat you, he'll keep you distracted. So. Wow, right.

[00:18:47] [SPEAKER_00]: All right. I think you've got one more story around kind of what you do in your day to day

[00:18:54] [SPEAKER_00]: about an intern and how you're able to kind of help them, I believe help them understand how faith

[00:19:02] [SPEAKER_00]: ties in and how you can have faith as part of your practice. Can you share that?

[00:19:08] [SPEAKER_02]: Yeah. Yeah. So this is over the years, I had a lot of student shadows, had a lot of interns

[00:19:13] [SPEAKER_02]: been grateful for like, because there's a chiropractor school in Minnesota. So interns will come,

[00:19:18] [SPEAKER_02]: they'll kind of set up some hours and stuff in the office. But I distinctly remember an intern

[00:19:23] [SPEAKER_02]: at one time. And he was talking about the music, you know, because like I said, I tend to

[00:19:26] [SPEAKER_02]: listen to Christian music for sure the first half of the day, sometimes all day. And the music

[00:19:32] [SPEAKER_02]: comes from my phone. Like I get to pick the music in my office. I'm setting the tone, I'm setting

[00:19:35] [SPEAKER_02]: the vibe. And I've never had anybody complain about it. There's probably been plenty of people

[00:19:39] [SPEAKER_02]: that don't like it, but it's okay. And as a business, I think how many businesses out there

[00:19:44] [SPEAKER_02]: are just like folding for the dollar. Like core values go out the window when it comes to like

[00:19:53] [SPEAKER_02]: paychecks. Right? So anyway, it drives me nuts. And so I'm like, whatever, if I've lost business

[00:20:01] [SPEAKER_02]: over it, like praise God, like that's okay. So this intern one time he was like, how do you

[00:20:07] [SPEAKER_02]: like share your faith or like play this music? Like to him, it was a question and literally

[00:20:14] [SPEAKER_02]: it did catch me off guard because I never thought anything about it. Like I've been

[00:20:17] [SPEAKER_02]: in stores that play Christian music. I'm like, I kind of like it. Like, your vibe attracts your

[00:20:22] [SPEAKER_02]: tribe type, type style, you know? And in his mind. So a few more questions later, I was like,

[00:20:28] [SPEAKER_02]: well, what do you mean? He's like, well, you're a business. Oh, yeah. Yeah, I'm a business.

[00:20:37] [SPEAKER_02]: But I'm a person, you know what I mean? Like so, I think that's why it's so cool. We have so

[00:20:42] [SPEAKER_02]: many different styles and flavors of businesses. I tell people, Kaiapar just like restaurants. I

[00:20:46] [SPEAKER_02]: mean, there's so many different styles and flavors. And there's one on every corner,

[00:20:49] [SPEAKER_02]: like right next to Starbucks, like we're everywhere. So there's going to be some like,

[00:20:53] [SPEAKER_02]: like I said, that you vibe with and those things. But like in that moment, I was like,

[00:20:57] [SPEAKER_02]: well, it was really no different. Like so his question was how do you share your face? And I

[00:21:02] [SPEAKER_02]: said, well, well, faith isn't something I put on like a t-shirt. Like, like face is something

[00:21:07] [SPEAKER_02]: that's as you grow and develop, like people should be able to witness. And that's really

[00:21:13] [SPEAKER_02]: seeing now even like playing some of the music we do, it's just it's a low hanging fruit. It's

[00:21:17] [SPEAKER_02]: like, oh, because I guess what guess who non Christians aren't playing Christian music.

[00:21:24] [SPEAKER_02]: Well, you know, I mean, it's a pretty easy like, oh, oh, I got it. Okay, cool. You know,

[00:21:30] [SPEAKER_02]: so with that intern that time, it was like simply put it was like, and I'm hoping I like,

[00:21:35] [SPEAKER_02]: I can look back actually think I remember the intern. I should kick him a message just

[00:21:40] [SPEAKER_02]: on Facebook. That would be the way I'd get a hold of him but like seeing how sharing his

[00:21:45] [SPEAKER_02]: faith has blended into his day. Because like I said, it's not something it's something that

[00:21:52] [SPEAKER_02]: should be like felt and seen before it's heard a lot of times. Yeah, we're talking about

[00:21:59] [SPEAKER_01]: before we started recording that it's like, man, it's just part of our DNA. It's like who I am

[00:22:05] [SPEAKER_01]: and playing Christian music doesn't even cross my mind as being different or weird because

[00:22:11] [SPEAKER_01]: it's like, yeah, this is just who I am. Like you were saying in the last episode sharing your

[00:22:16] [SPEAKER_01]: faith with your father-in-law, it's like, man, that's what we're all called to do and it's just

[00:22:21] [SPEAKER_02]: who I am. Yeah, no, for sure. It's just like, oh, okay. Well, I feel like that in and of itself

[00:22:28] [SPEAKER_00]: could be kind of the encouragement for our listeners, you know, as they go into their week.

[00:22:33] [SPEAKER_00]: What if God's just asking you to be you and you know, just

[00:22:37] [SPEAKER_00]: wear, I mean, wear your faith on your t-shirt but no, like just bring that. Just bring it with you.

[00:22:44] [SPEAKER_00]: It is part of you. It doesn't have to be this extra thing that you gear up for.

[00:22:51] [SPEAKER_00]: But just let it be who you are in your interactions.
