Andrew Steier puts it simply:
His will. His way.
Not our will, His way.
Not His will, our way.
And obedience begins somewhere deeper than simply following the rules.
It grows out of relationship with God.
As we know Him, trust Him, and understand His heart, obedience becomes a response to the One we're following.
That doesn't mean we'll get it perfectly right. Sanctification is a lifelong process, and we'll always be dependent on the grace of Jesus.
But we can keep asking:
God, what do You want—and how are You asking me to walk it out?
Because the goal isn't finding our own way to something that looks godly.
It's staying close enough to Jesus to follow His will, His way. 💛
