Fear Disguised As Wisdom

Sometimes fear sounds surprisingly reasonable.

It says, “I'm just being careful.”
“I'm trying to protect them.”
“That's probably not a good idea.”

But as Jess shares in this conversation, sometimes what looks like wisdom may actually be our own fear or discomfort setting limits for someone else.

That's where we need the Holy Spirit.

Especially as parents, the goal isn't to raise kids who never take risks or venture beyond what feels comfortable to us. It's to help equip them to follow God, grow in wisdom, and step into the things He has for them—even when their path takes them farther than ours did.

So maybe the question isn't only, “Is this wise?”

Maybe we also need to ask:
“Holy Spirit, is this wisdom—or is this fear?” 💛
