Prepare for a New Season

Seasons are a big part of life. The various circumstances we encounter in life are not mere coincidences but orchestrated or allowed by God with great purpose and intentionality. There is a proper time for everything. God's timing may seem difficult or hard to understand, but it will always bring goodness rather than hopelessness. We should live by faith in the Word and trust God's judgment in all things.

Ecclesiastes 3:1

There is a time for everything, and a season for every activity under the heavens:

God is in control of all things, and that he guides our steps from one season to the next. The things we go through in life are not in vain.  Whatever God takes us through has purpose, perhaps to deepen our faith or to help us achieve breakthrough in an area of life. I sometimes struggle understanding this but I trust that God knows best according to his word.

Proverbs 3:5-6

Trust in the Lord with all thine heart; and lean not unto thine own understanding.

Romans 8:28

And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.

Here are some practical steps to prepare for a new season:

1.Recognize the Season You're In - Before preparing for a new season, it’s important to take inventory of your current one. Maybe you’re in a season of growth, waiting, or even pruning. Write down areas where you feel stuck or uncertain, and then surrender them to God. Ask Him to show you the new thing He’s doing in your life.

2. Spend time in prayer, ask God what He’s teaching you in this moment. Are there habits or attitudes you need to let go of?  Embrace God’s promise of renewal (don’t cling to the past). You can’t grab hold of what’s ahead if your hands are full of yesterday’s baggage. Let go of habits or attitudes that won’t serve you in the new season.

3. Trust God / Surround Yourself with Support: Seek mentors, accountability partners, and scripture-based wisdom.

Preparing for a new season isn’t always easy, but with God’s guidance, it can be a time of growth and renewal. Remember, He’s doing a new thing—and it’s going to be good! ( in Jesus name!)

Let’s Pray:  Dear Heavenly Father, help me to recognize the purpose of the season I’m in and to trust You as I prepare for what’s ahead. Give me the courage to let go of what no longer aligns with Your will and the faith to embrace the new things You are doing. Strengthen me to persevere and not grow weary in doing good. May my heart remain steadfast, and may I always trust in Your perfect timing. In Jesus’ name, Amen.
