Don't Take GOD's Blessings for Granted

It's easy to become accustomed to the blessings we receive from GOD.  Our lives can become so busy and distracting that we can easily overlook how He covers us from day to day.  Regardless of how our day is going, we need to take a moment and thank GOD for everything that he does for us .

As we enjoy his blessings,  there's a danger of taking them for granted and forgetting the Source of all good things. In Deuteronomy, Moses warns the Israelites about this very temptation as they prepare to enter the Promised Land. The message is clear: prosperity can lead to pride and forgetfulness.

Deuteronomy 8:12-14, 17-18

12 When you have eaten and are filled, and have built good houses to live in, 13 and when your cattle and flocks become many, and you get much silver and gold, and have many things for your own, 14 be careful not to become proud. Do not forget the Lord your God Who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house where you were servants.
17 Be careful not to say in your heart, ‘My power and strong hand have made me rich.’ 18 But remember the Lord your God. For it is He Who is giving you power to become rich. By this He may keep His agreement which He promised to your fathers, as it is this day.

We must recognize that every blessing we have comes from GOD. James 1:17 says " Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows "

Whether it's our health, family, job, or daily provisions, GOD is the Giver of all good things.   We should  acknowledge this and cultivate a heart of gratitude and dependence on Him. Our response should be of praise and thankfulness.  Psalm 103:2 says, "Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all his benefits."  A heart of gratitude keeps us humble and focused on God.

Another way to avoid taking God's blessings for granted is to share them with others. 1 Timothy 6:17-18 instructs those who are blessed with material wealth to "do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share." By blessing others, we acknowledge that we are stewards of God's gifts, not owners.

As we reflect on the blessings in our lives, let us commit to never taking them for granted. Recognize that all good things come from God, respond with praise and thankfulness and share His blessings with others. In doing so, we honor GOD and keep our hearts aligned with His will.

Prayer:
Dear Heavenly Father, we thank You for all the blessings that You give us. Help us to recognize Your hand in all the good things we have. Give us hearts full of gratitude as we reflect on your goodness . Teach us to share our blessings, love and generosity with others. Keep us humble and mindful of Your constant provision. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
