Building Confidence, GOD’s Way
The dictionary defines confidence as " a feeling or consciousness of one's powers or of reliance on one's circumstances" The Bible teaches us a different kind of confidence. A confidence that is rooted in our relationship with GOD and the power He provides.
Here are 3 steps on how we can build confidence, GOD's way.
1. Recognize the source. True confidence comes from recognizing that our abilities and resources are limited, but GOD' s power is infinite. Philippians 4:13 says "I can do all things through Christ which strengthens me." This verse tells us that our confidence should not be in our own strength, but in GOD's. When we depend on him, we are empowered to face any challenge.
2. Pray. The Bible encourages us to go to GOD trusting that He hears and answers our prayers according to His will. 1 John 5:14-15 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him.
3. Put your trust in GOD and know that He has plans and purposes for our lives, even if we don't fully understand them. Jeremiah 17:7 But blessed is the one who trusts in the Lord, whose confidence is in him. Jeremiah 29:11 says "For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."
Building confidence in GOD 's way is about shifting our focus from ourselves to Him. It’s about acknowledging our weaknesses and relying on His strength. Our confidence should be rooted in GOD.
