Be Thankful
Thanksgiving isn’t just about turkey, football, and trying not to fall asleep before dessert. Take time today to pause, reflect, and really give thanks. Sometimes we get so wrapped up in the festivities that we forget that the main theme of today is gratitude. Whether you’re gathered with family or savoring a quiet moment alone, take time to thank GOD for His blessings—big and small.
1 Thessalonians 5:18
give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus
How often do we take things for granted? For example, we sometimes complain about waking up early, ignoring the fact that waking up is a gift in itself! Even when the turkey is dry, the pie burns, or the mac and cheese ain't what it should be, we should be thankful for the blessing of having food to eat and loved ones to share it with.
Off the top of my head I can think of 6 six things I’m thankful for today:
Friends and family. They’re the ones who love us, regardless of how crazy we get.
Health. A functioning body is no small blessing. If you’re upright and breathing, thank GOD!
GOD's grace. This one needs no explanation—just gratitude.
Waking up. Every new morning is an opportunity to live, love, and pursue greatness.
Laughter. I like those cheesy social media videos.
Freedom. What a major blessing in itself.
Thanksgiving isn’t just one day—it’s a lifestyle. Sure, the yams are awesome, but it’s GOD who truly fills our lives with joy, hope, and purpose.
Ephesians 5:20
always giving thanks to God the Father for everything, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Lets Pray. Dear Heavenly Father we pause to reflect on Your goodness and countless blessings. Thank You for the gift of life, for family and friends, laughter, health, and the freedom we have in Christ. Help us to see Your hand in every detail of our lives, even in the moments we often overlook. May gratitude fill our hearts, not just today but every day, as we praise You for Your faithfulness. Bless our gatherings and remind us of Your love, which never fails. In Jesus’ precious name, Amen.
